MOUNT VERNON – Mount Vernon Municipal Court Judge John Thatcher found 18 defendants guilty after court trials, arraignments and hearings this week in the Mount Vernon Municipal Court.

The Mount Vernon Law Director’s Office brought forward the following cases:

NOV. 2

Cory Hensley, 26, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, was found guilty of Misusing 911 and Disorderly Conduct in the Presence of EMS Personnel. The Court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine for Misusing 911 and sentenced him to serve one day in jail for Disorderly Conduct.

Tomar Colvin, 34, of Columbus, was found guilty of Driving Without a Valid License, Operating a Vehicle off of State Routes, and Improper Display of License Plates. The Court sentenced him to pay a $300 fine on Driving Without a Valid License, a $75 fine on Operating a Vehicle off of State Routes, and a $25 fine on Improperly Displaying his license plate.

Ronald Pence, 45, of Mansfield, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle off of State Routes. The Court sentenced him to pay a $125 fine.

Delenn Heffelfinger, 24, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced her to pay a $300 fine.

Law Director, Rob Broeren represented the State of Ohio and the City of Mount Vernon in the Hensley, Colvin and Heffelfinger cases. Assistant Law Director, Brittany Whitney, represented the City of Mount Vernon in the Pence case.

NOV. 1

Christina Hart, 39, of Centerburg, was found guilty of Speeding in a School Zone. The Court sentenced her to pay a $50 fine.

Luanne Woolfe, 66, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension and Speeding. The Court sentenced her to pay a $200 fine for the DUS charge and a $35 fine for Speeding.

Damion Fox, 18, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $150 fine.

William Atherton, 43, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine.

Ivn James, 28, of Columbus, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine.

Heidi Dible, 38, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or a Drug of Abuse. The Court sentenced her to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed her on two years of community control, and suspended her operator’s license for one year.

Gregory Hyatt, 39, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The Court sentenced him to serve six days in jail.

Kathrine Monroe, 57, of Wheeling, WVa, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or a Drug of Abuse. The Court sentenced her to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended, placed her on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended her operator’s license for one year.

Jesse Ivy, 27, of Howard, was found guilty of Selling Alcohol to an Underage Person. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine.

Sheldon Hayes, 23, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Andrew Steinmetz, 39, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or a Drug of Abuse. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 174 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Ferell Looney, 66, of Delaware, was found guilty of Public Indecency. He will be sentenced on December 13, 2022 following a pre-sentence investigation.

OCT. 31

Keith Clum, 64, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of two counts of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 150 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following conditions: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year for the first count of OVI. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 150 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control, and suspended his operator’s license for one year for the second count of OVI.

Steven Dupuy, 24, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Having Physical Control Over a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following conditions: complete a drug and alcohol assessment, and suspended his operator’s license for 90 days.
