MOUNT VERNON – Judge John Thatcher found 17 guilty after court trials, arraignments and hearings were held this week in the Mount Vernon Municipal Court.
These were the cases brought forward by the Mount Vernon Law Director’s Office.
Sept. 14
David Seymour, 31, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under a 12 Point Suspension. The Court sentenced him to serve three days in jail.
Law Director, Rob Broeren, represented the City of Mount Vernon in the above case.
Sept. 13
Crystal West, 40, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The Court sentenced her to pay a $200 fine for the DUS charge. She was sentenced to pay a $100 fine, serve 30 days in jail, with 20 days suspended, and placed her on one year of probation with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment for the Possession charge.
Matthew Carpenter, 37, of Newark, was found guilty of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana Drug Paraphernalia. The Court sentenced him to pay a $75 fine for each charge.
Dillon Lewis, 25, of Warsaw, was found guilty of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana Drug Paraphernalia, Speeding and Distracted Driving. The Court sentenced him to pay a $75 fine for each Possession charge and a $135 fine for Speeding and Distracted Driving.
Keith Carder, 33, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension and Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $300 fine for the DUS charge and a $35 fine for Speeding.
Timothy Kazee, 46, of Columbus, was found guilty of Speeding in a School Zone. The Court sentenced him to pay a $50 fine.
Haily Houska, 26, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle with Expires Plates. The Court sentenced her to pay a $15 fine.
Sydney Timmerman, 23, of Newark, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $100 fine.
Paul Smith, 61, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Speeding in a School Zone. The Court sentenced him to pay a $100 fine.
Melissah Pawlikowski, 44, of Granville, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced her to pay a $50 fine.
David Cross, 35, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Drugs of Abuse and Receiving Stolen Property. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 120 days in jail, with credit for time served, and suspended his operator’s license for one year for the OVI charge and to serve 120 days in jail, with credit for time served for the RSP charge.
Joseph Fulton, 38, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of two counts of Theft. The Court sentenced him to serve seven days in jail on each charge and to pay $592.77 in restitution.
Director of Law, Rob Broeren, represented the City of Mount Vernon and the State of Ohio in these cases.
Sept. 12
Kenneth Hodge, 36, of Columbus, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine.
Michael Kupiec, 32, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under a 12-Point Suspension. The Court sentenced him to serve eight days in jail.
John Ewalt, 68, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.
Gregory Parker, 19, of Danville, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $100 fine.
Thomas Felda, 54, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct- Engaging in Fighting or Turbulent Behavior. He will be sentenced on Sept. 26.
