MOUNT VERNON – Judge John Thatcher found 22 defendants guilty and sentenced two more after court trials, arraignments and hearings were conducted this week in the Mount Vernon Municipal Court.

AUG. 24

Taylor Martin, 19, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension and Driving with Fictitious Plates. The Court sentenced her to pay a $250 fine on the DUS and a $50 fine on the Fictitious Plates charge.

James Looney, 31, of Butler, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $300 fine. Law Director, Rob Broeren, represented the City of Mount Vernon in the Martin case and the State of Ohio in the Looney case.

AUG. 23

Kevin Schaefer, 34, of Wright Patterson Air Force Base, was found guilty of Hunting Deer without a Permit. The Court sentenced him to pay a $75 fine.

Chelsea Fown-Hoos, 31, of Martinsburg, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced her to pay a $75 fine.

Corinna Wisecarver, 48, of Frazeysburg, was found guilty of Speeding in a School Zone. The Court sentenced her to pay a $100 fine.

Isaiah Speelman, 22, of Hilliard, was found guilty of Speeding in a School Zone. The Court sentenced him to pay a $50 fine.

Branden Gamble, 25, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Domestic Violence. The Court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, with 120 days suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete a drug and alcohol assessment and complete the Court’s Hands Down program.

Anna King, 29, of Fredericktown, was found guilty was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol and Endangering Children. The Court sentenced her to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 172 days suspended, placed her on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended her operator’s license for one year for the OVI charge. She was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail, with 172 days suspended, and was placed on two years of probation for the Endangering Children charge.

Travis Hauger, 31, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Failing to Stop After an Accident and Making a False Alarm. The Court sentenced him to pay a $700 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended, placed him on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete a drug and alcohol assessment and complete the Court’s Thinking for a Change program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year for the Failure to Stop charge. He was sentenced to serve 180 day in jail, with 170 days suspended, and was placed on two years of probation for Making a False Alarm.

Steven Goligoski, 29, of Cardington, was found guilty of Resisting Arrest. The Court sentenced him to serve 15 days in jail.

Shawn Caudill, 45, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of two counts of Aggravated Menacing. He will be sentenced on October 4, 2022 following a pre-sentence investigation.

Milton Goad, 56, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Domestic Violence. He will be sentenced on Oct. 4, 2022 following a pre-sentence investigation.

Holly Daniels, 30, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Assault. She will be sentenced on Oct. 4, 2022 following a pre-sentence investigation.

Lexus Robinson, 28, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The Court sentenced her to serve 10 days in jail.

Sonia Shephard, 42, of Hinckley, was found guilty was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced her to pay a $1,000 fine, to serve 75 days in jail, and suspended her operator’s license for three years.

James Schaade, 33, of Mansfield, was found guilty of Driving without a Valid License. The Court sentenced him to serve seven days in jail, with all time suspended.

Cathy Wentzel, 70, of Howard, was found guilty of Failing to Obey a Traffic Control device. The Court sentenced her to pay a $25 fine.

Calvin Canter, 30, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Assault. The Court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, with 150 days suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete a drug and alcohol assessment and complete the Court’s Hands Down program.

Lachressa Blakesley, 25, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Assault. She will be sentenced on October 4, 2022 following a pre-sentence investigation.

Zachary King, 31, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Failing to Comply with Lawful Order on July 12, 2022. Today he was sentenced to serve 30 days in jail, and his operator’s license was suspended for 180 days.

Jacob Stotts, 28, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Domestic Violence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $150 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following conditions: enroll in Moral Reconation Therapy and/or the Court’s Thinking for a Change program.

Crystal Levings, 42, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced her to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 168 days suspended, placed her on two years of community control with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment, and suspended her operator’s license for one year.

Keith Brandenburg, 37, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence and Resisting Arrest. The Court sentenced him to pay a $700 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment, and suspended his operator’s license for two years for the OVI charge. He was sentenced to serve 90 days in jail, with 70 days suspended, and was placed on two years of probation for the Resisting Arrest charge.

Ben Woolison, 35, of Gambier, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence and Resisting Arrest. The Court sentenced him to pay a $700 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 160 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment, and suspended his operator’s license for two years.
