COLUMBUS — Four Knox County baseball players have earned all-Ohio honors for their play this season.
Fredericktown junior Brady Lester, Centerburg sophomore Grayson Reynolds, East Knox sophomore Bryar Householder and East Knox senior Peyton Lester received all-state recognition Monday, when the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association announced its 2022 honorees.
Brady Lester earned Division III first-team recognition. He started in center field for the Freddies and dominated at the plate, emerging as one of central Ohio’s top hitters this season.
Lester batted .507, recording 38 hits in 75 at-bats. He boasted a 1.120 slugging percentage and a .614 on-base percentage. The junior tallied 11 doubles, four triples, and nine home runs. He recorded 33 RBIs and 44 runs scored.
Lester walked 20 times and was hit by four pitches. He also stole 16 bases and had a perfect fielding percentage (no errors).
Lester helped lead Fredericktown to its fourth straight Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference title and its fifth straight district title this spring. The Freddies ultimately fell in the regional semifinals to Milan Edison, 5-4 in eight innings. They were one of 16 Division III teams remaining statewide.
Reynolds earned Division III second-team honors. He started at shortstop for the Trojans and quickly emerged as one of central Ohio’s top defensive players, while also proving to be elite at the plate.
Reynolds batted .512 this year, registering 44 hits in 86 at-bats. He tallied 31 RBIs and 32 runs scored, while recording nine doubles and one triple. He walked nine times and was hit by one pitch.
Reynolds boasted a .640 slugging percentage, a .557 on-base percentage and a .913 fielding percentage. He stole 12 bases.
Reynolds helped lead Centerburg to a second-place finish in the KMAC this spring. The Trojans advanced to the district semifinals before falling to Amanda-Clearcreek, 7-4. They were one of 64 Division III teams remaining statewide.
Householder earned Division IV second-team honors. He started at pitcher and infielder for the Bulldogs, while also emerging as one of the most feared power hitters in central Ohio.
Householder batted .528 this season, registering 38 hits in 72 at-bats. He tallied 26 RBIs and 20 runs scored, hitting five doubles and two home runs. He was walked nine times and was hit by one pitch.
Householder boasted a .681 slugging percentage, a .578 on-base percentage and a .862 fielding percentage.
Householder helped lead East Knox to a third-place finish in the KMAC this year. The Bulldogs advanced to the district final before falling to Fairfield Christian Academy, 7-5. They were one of 32 Division IV teams remaining statewide.
Peyton Lester also earned Division IV second-team recognition. He started as a utility player for the Bulldogs, using his sound defensive skills and hitting prowess to emerge as one of central Ohio’s most reliable players.
Lester batted .467 this spring, registering 28 hits in 60 at-bats. He recorded two doubles and one triple.
Lester tallied 11 RBIs and 28 runs scored. He also stole nine bases this season (statistics on walks, on-base percentage, slugging percentage and fielding percentage were unavailable as of Tuesday afternoon).
