MOUNT VERNON — Judge John Thatcher found 22 guilty and sentenced two people after arraignments and court hearings were held this week in the Mount Vernon Municipal Court.
These were the cases brought forward by the Mount Vernon Law Director’s Office.
MARCH 30
Travis Lonsinger, 28, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving While Intoxicated and Expired Plates. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 174 suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his driver’s license for one year.
Michael Fullmer, 40, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of using Unauthorized Plates. The Court sentenced him to pay a $50 fine.
Todd Cunningham, 53, of Walhonding, was found guilty of Assured Clear Distance Ahead. The Court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine.
Shawn Sharp, 43, of Cardington, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension and Driving Without a Seatbelt. The Court sentenced him to a $300 fine on the Driving Under Suspension charge and a $30 fine for Driving Without a Seatbelt.
Assistant Director of Law, Brittany Whitney, represented the City of Mount Vernon in the Fullmer case and Law Director, Rob Broeren represented the State of Ohio and the City of Mount Vernon in the remaining cases.
MARCH 29
Byron Dewitt, 44, of Lakeville, was found guilty of Driving Without a Valid Operator’s License and Failing to Use Headlights. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.
Tasha Bean, 38, of Utica, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced her to pay a $200 fine.
Danny Hyden, 33, of Martinsburg, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $75 fine.
Earl Scoles, 24, of Zanesville, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.
Darrin Colegrove, 29, of Mansfield, was found guilty of Backing without Safety. The Court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine.
Charles Meyer, 41 of Columbus, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.
Xavier Mason, 22, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Failing to Comply with Lawful Order and Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments. The Court sentenced him to serve 30 days in jail.
Delenn Heffelfinger, 23, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Failing to Comply with Lawful Order and Driving without a Valid License. The Court placed her on two years of probation with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment.
Mary Poorman, 38, of Newcomerstown, was found guilty of Driving Without a Valid Operator’s License and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The Court sentenced her to pay a $250 fine for the Invalid License charge. She was sentenced to serve 30 days in jail, with all time suspended, and was placed on one year of probation with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment.
Eligerr Mosby, 45, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Domestic Violence. The Court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, with 150 days suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following condition: complete the Court’s Hands Down program.
Denise Litvin, 52, of Cleveland, was found guilty of Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The Court sentenced her to pay a $250 fine, serve 30 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed her on one year of probation with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment.
Aaron Hairston, 30, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $700 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 160 days suspended, placed him on three years of community control with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment, and suspended his operator’s license for two years.
Max Bricker, 29, of Bladensburg, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.
Adam Quinn, 31, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The Court sentenced him to serve 15 days in jail.
John Meier, 72, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine, serve 30 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on one year of probation with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment.
Joshua Kaber, 42, of Howard, was found guilty of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.
James Fidler, 67, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Violating a Protection Order. He will be sentenced on May 10, 2022 following a pre-sentence investigation.
Helton Culver, 39, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Failing to Stop After an Accident and Backing without Safety. He will be sentenced on April 12, 2022.
Allan Hamilton, 33, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Domestic Violence on Feb. 23, 2022. Today he was sentenced to serve 60 days in jail, with all time suspended.
Earl Simmons, 51 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Domestic Violence on March 8, 2022. Today he was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail, with 135 days suspended, and placed on two years of probation with the following condition: complete the Court’s Hands Down program.

Marissa Rocko, 22, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol. The Court sentenced her to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed her on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended her operator’s license for one year.
William Wolfe, 34, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence and Failing to Stop After an Accident. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 175 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment, and suspended his operator’s license for 180 days.
