MOUNT VERNON – The Mount Vernon Arts Consortium announced that the thrilling aerobatic show Aureum: An Aerial and Acrobatic adventure Tale from Halcyon Shows is the latest show addition to its 2022 lineup of artists to be brought to Mount Vernon as part of its inaugural season.
Aureum, a show with world-class acrobatics and theatrical storylines, will be staged on June 18 at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the Knox Memorial Theater.
The show marks the art consortium’s fourth performance of the 2022 season, the first full season since its inception.
Aureum is an unforgettable show with a fantasy narrative where a time traveler finds himself caught in an epic battle between the beautiful spirits of nature and the dark forces that seek to destroy them.
With an original soundtrack and high-flying technical elements, it is an incomparable night of music, acrobatics, and theater.
“Dance, drama, music, and masterful aerial artistry, Aureum is an electrifying and unique performance experience that is sure to dazzle audiences of ages,” said Martin Booker, executive director of the Mount Vernon Arts Consortium.
“This is the exact quality of talent and entertainment value that the Mount Vernon Arts Consortium will continue to bring to our thriving community and beautiful and historic venues.”
The performance is the second that weekend for the arts consortium, with SNL alumni and iconic stand-up comedian Kevin Nealon performing just two days prior on June 16 at the Woodward Opera House.
Both shows serve a greater purpose for the arts consortium, which exists to bring exclusive arts and culture opportunities to Mount Vernon, an accessible Ohio hometown in the midst of a lively revitalization with a history that runs centuries deep.
The area has outdoor recreation, arts and culture opportunities, and a vibrant food scene.
