GAMBIER – Following an extensive search, Kenyon College Head Football Coach Ian Good announced the hiring of two new staff members for the Lords football program.
Corey Headley joins the staff as the Lords new offensive coordinator, while Robert Brown will take over defensive coordinator duties.
Headley comes to Kenyon after a two-year stint at Division I Gardner-Webb University, where he coached the tight ends and served as the director of football operations for the Runnin’ Bulldogs.
Before joining the Gardner-Webb staff, Headley spent time at Christopher Newport University, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Carson Newman University. During his coaching career, Headley coached six all-conference selections and a conference champion, which went on to make an appearance in the NCAA playoffs.
As a player, Headley was a wide receiver at Carson Newman, where he played in the conference tournament quarterfinal and semifinal games.
Brown comes to Gambier after nearly four years at Wilmington College.
With the Quakers, he held multiple roles, including coaching the linebackers and defensive backs, while, at various times serving as the academic coordinator, defensive pass game coordinator, director of player personnel and special teams coordinator.
Before working at Wilmington, Brown made stops at Oberlin College, North Carolina Wesleyan College and Defiance College. As a coach, Brown has a resume that includes 13 all-conference, two all-region and one All-America award-winners.
Brown spent his playing days at nearby Ohio Dominican University, where he was a part of a Mid-States Football Association Mideast Championship team.
