Judge's gavel and scales of Justice

MOUNT VERNON – Judge John Thatcher found 11 people guilty after arraignments, hearing and trials were held in the Mount Vernon Municipal Court this week.

DEC. 8

Tyler Stoller, 24, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Theft. The Court has scheduled sentencing for Dec. 21, 2021.

Destiny Long, 28, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an OVI/ALS Suspension and Failure to Control a Vehicle. The Court sentenced her to pay a $250 fine, serve three days in jail and suspended her driver’s license for 30 days on the OVI/ALS Suspension, and on the Failure to Control sentenced her to a $50 fine.

Jake Williams, 36, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty Driving Under Suspension, Expired Registration and Failure to Display License Plates. The Court sentenced to him pay a $250 fine for Driving Under Suspension and a $25 fine on the Failure to Display.

Mark Looker, 59, of Cardington was found guilty of Driving Without a Seatbelt. The Court sentenced him to pay a $30 fine.

Karen Gruner, 68, of Gambier, was found guilty of Backing Without Safety. The Court sentenced her to pay a $25 fine.

David Flowers was found guilty of Fictitious Plates and Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $50 fine for the Fictitious Plates and a $200 fine on the Driving Under Suspension.

Director of Law, Rob Broeren represented the City of Mount Vernon and the State of Ohio in the above cases.

DEC. 7

Robert Humphrey, 42, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Without a Valid License. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.

John Krzoski, 33, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Menacing and Violating a Protection Order on Nov. 16, 2021. Today he was sentenced to serve 30 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following condition: attend and complete the Court’s Hands Down program for the Menacing charge. He was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail, with all time suspended, and was placed on two years of probation condition: attend and complete the Court’s Hands Down program for Violating a Protection Order.

Law Director, Rob Broeren, represented the City of Mount Vernon and the State of Ohio in these cases.

DEC. 6

Brittany Lyon, 37, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Criminal Mischief. The Court sentenced her to serve 180 days in jail, with all time suspended, ordered her to pay $2,136.36 in restitution, and placed her on two years of probation.

William Stelzer, 21, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to serve three days in jail.

Morgan Tedrick, 29, of Mount Gilead, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence and Failing to Comply with Lawful Order. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 150 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following conditions: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program and complete a drug and alcohol assessment as soon as in practicable, and suspended his operator’s license for one year for the OVI charge. He was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail, with 150 days suspended, placed him on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete 20 hours of community service and complete a drug and alcohol assessment as soon as is practicable, and suspended his operator’s license for 180 days for the Failure to Comply charge.

Randolph McGregor, 38, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 174 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Matthew Roth, 20, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under a 12-Point Suspension. The Court sentenced him to serve three days in jail.
