MOUNT VERNON — Two people were arrested after local authorities served a search warrant Monday at a residence on Cornish Road.
Colton Pelton, 24, and Kerie Watson, 36, were each placed in custody, according to a Knox County Sheriff’s Office press release.
At approximately 1:50 p.m., the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Unit, assisted by the Mount Vernon Police Department’s Emergency Services Unit served a search warrant as part of a drug trafficking investigation.
Five people were identified at the residence, with Pelton and Watson being arrested on active warrants and transported to the Knox County Jail.
Deputies seized cell phones, counterfeit currency, ammunition, suspected drugs, and drug paraphernalia. The investigation is ongoing.
