MOUNT VERNON – Judge John Thatcher found 27 people guilty after court trials and hearings in Mount Vernon Municipal Court this week.

Cases were:

— Nicholas Porter, 31 of Newark, was found guilty of Failing to Use Reasonable Control. The Court sentenced him to pay a $45 fine.

— Giovanni Glover, 18 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving without a Valid License. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.

— Scott Edgar, 63 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Assault and Disorderly Conduct with Persisting Behavior. The Court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, with 179 days suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete a drug and alcohol assessment as soon as is practicable, and to have no contact with the victims in this case for the Assault charge. He was sentenced to serve 30 days in jail, with all time suspended, for the Disorderly Conduct charge.

— Dustin Pierson, 33 of Canton, was found guilty of Assault. The Court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, with 150 days suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete an drug and alcohol assessment as soon as is practicable and complete Anger Management.

— Kelsi Keener, 34 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The Court sentenced her to serve seven days in jail.

— Kaitlyn Gilbert, 21 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct with Persisting Behavior. The Court sentenced her to serve 10 days in jail, with all time suspended.

— Kelsey Kuhn, 50 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Theft. The Court sentenced him to serve 43 days in jail.

— Philip Elswick, 52 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or a Drug of Abuse. The Court sentenced him to pay a $700 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment as soon as is practicable, and suspended his operator’s license for two years.

— Joshua Miller, 29 of Columbus, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine and to serve 30 days in jail.

— Daniel Morris, 35 of Howard, was found guilty of Driving Under a 12-Point Suspension. The Court sentenced him to serve three days in jail.

— Melissa Kinnel, 50 of Brinkhaven, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension and Failing to Stop After an Accident on Private Property. The Court sentenced her to pay a $200 fine for the DUS charge, pay a $50 fine for Failing to Stop, and to serve 30 days in jail for each charge.

— Robin Ballengee, 55 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of two counts of Violating a Protection Order. He will be sentenced on September 14, 2021 following a pre-sentence investigation.

— Erick Gutierrez, 21 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Domestic Violence. He will be sentenced on September 14, 2021 following a pre-sentence investigation.

— Kevin Hunt, 49 of Columbus, was found guilty of Aggravated Menacing on July 27, 2021. Today he was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on one year of probation with the following condition: complete 10 hours of community service.

— Jane Townsend, 59 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced her to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed her on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended her operator’s license for one year.

— Jeremiah Davis, 40 of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct. The Court sentenced him to pay a $150 fine.

— Jack Harris, 19 of Bellville, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following conditions: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program and pay $1,386.02 in restitution to the Knox County Engineers office, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

— Tristen Cook, 20 of Ashland, was found guilty of Driving Under a 12-Point Suspension. The Court sentenced him to serve five days in jail.

— Hubert Wells Jr., 42 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Failure to Control. The Court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine.

— David Rogers, 29 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension and Expired Plates. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine on the Driving Under Suspension charge and a $25 fine for his expired plates.

— Tara Tomlin, 31 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving with Non-Compliant Tinted Windows. The Court sentenced her to pay a $25 fine.

— William Parker, 48 of Danville, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine.

— J-Ro Sharp, 37 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.

— Mark Daggett, 58 of Howard, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $35 fine.

— Carley Kuhn, 26 of Centerburg, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced her to pay a $200 fine.

— Charles Randall, 48 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Left of Center while Distracted. The Court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine and complete a Distracted Driving Course.

— Michael Butcher, 52 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.
