MOUNT VERNON – Judge John Thatcher found 15 guilty and sentenced another person after court trials, arraignments, and hearings took place this week at the Mount Municipal Court on Aug. 4.

AUG. 4

William Fuller, 39, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $35 fine.

Jonathan Ortiz, 27, of Lexington, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine.

Assistant Law Director, Justin Mackin, represented the City of Mount Vernon in the above case.

AUG. 3

Brittaney Immel, 31, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Failing to Confine her Dog. The Court sentenced her to pay a $50 fine.

Ethan Silliman, 22, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Criminal Trespassing. The Court sentenced him to pay a $75 fine, serve 30 days in jail, with 27 days suspended, and placed him on one year of probation.

Stephan Shelley, 31, of Ashley, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension and Failing to Use Reasonable Control. The Court sentenced him to pay a $300 fine for the DUS charge and a $35 fine for Failing to Use Reasonable Control.

Christopher Ballard, 35, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension and Failing to Display a Valid Vehicle Registration. The Court sentenced him to pay a $300 fine for the DUS charge and a $35 fine for Failing to Display a Valid Vehicle Registration.

Devon Brooks, 25, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $75 fine.

Brandy Trent, 22, of Columbus, was found guilty of Operating a Motor Vehicle without a Driver’s License. The Court sentenced her to pay a $200 fine.

Michael Crider, 44, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or a Drug of Abuse. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Avery Price, 22, of Howard, was found guilty of Failing to Use Reasonable Control. The Court sentenced her to pay a $150 fine.

Savanna McDonald, 26, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol and Failing to Stop After an Accident. The Court sentenced her to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 174 days suspended, placed her on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended her operator’s license for one year for the OVI charge. She was sentenced to pay a $250 fine, serve six days in jail, and received a 180-day license suspension for the Failure to Stop After an Accident charge.

Chad McKnight, 28, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Endangering Children. The Court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, with 90 days suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment as soon as is practicable.

Tabetha Duncan, 40, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Allowing a Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle without a Valid Driver’s License. The Court sentenced her to pay a $200 fine.

James Fawcett, 42, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Domestic Violence. He will be sentenced on Sept. 14, 2021 following a pre-sentence investigation.

Assistant Director of Law, Justin Mackin, represented the City of Mount Vernon in the Immel and Trent cases, and the State of Ohio in the Silliman, Shelley, Ballard and Brooks cases.

Assistant Director of Law, Brittany Whitney, represented the State of Ohio in the Fawcett case.

Director of Law, Rob Broeren, represented the City of Mount Vernon and the State of Ohio in the remaining cases.

AUG. 2

Melissa Davis, 31, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced her to pay a $200 fine.

Lee Konkler, 37, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence, Failing to Comply with Lawful Order, and Driving Under Suspension on June 28. Today he was sentenced to pay a $1,000 fine, serve 365 days in jail, with 305 days suspended, placed him on five years of community control and suspended his operator’s for three years.

Assistant Director of Law, Brittany Whitney, represented the State of Ohio in the Konkler case.

Assistant Director of Law, Justin Mackin, represented the City of Mount Vernon in the Davis case.
