COLUMBUS — The 93rd Ohio FFA Convention was held as a virtual event on April 29-30, 2021. Members of the East Knox FFA were recognized during sessions of the convention.
During the first session on Thursday, the State Gold-rated chapter secretaries, treasurers, and reporters were honored. East Knox FFA Secretary Joci Totten and Reporter Josh Henwood both had perfect scores to go along with their gold ratings, and Treasurer Alexandria Magers only dropped two points with a score of 103 out of 105.
East Knox was one of only six FFAs in District 7 to have all three officers rate gold. The officers will receive a gold officer pin for their achievement.
The fourth session highlighted the State-winning Career Development Event teams and the top individual in each of the 42 areas in the state. East Knox FFA had the first place state Forestry team consisting of members Josh Henwood, Alexandria Magers, Logan Adams, and Dustin Springer. Josh Henwood was also the top scoring individual in Ohio out of 404 contestants. The team will represent Ohio in the Eastern States Exposition in Massachusetts in September.
The Nursery/Landscape team also won the state contest with team members Alexandria Magers, Andrew Poff, Josh Henwood, and James Bristow. Alexandria Magers was the state’s first place individual out of 216 contestants.
