MOUNT VERNON – The property holding Knox County’s only CVS has been sold.
According to records from the county auditor’s office, Starstones LLLP purchased the property at 900 Coshocton Ave. in Mount Vernon from WEC 99J-66 LLC for $3,775,000 on April 15. The former owner had possessed the property for 20 years.
CVS rents the property, according to retail communications manager Matt Blanchette. He said CVS plans to stay there, but directed additional questions to the new property owner.
“The CVS Pharmacy in Mount Vernon will continue to operate and serve the community,” Blanchette said in an email. “As this is a leased property, any questions surrounding the sale of the property should be directed to the seller and buyer directly.”
Attempts to contact Starstones LLLP through its agent, CT Corporation System in Columbus, were unsuccessful. According to filings with the Secretary of State’s office, Starstones LLLP is a Chicago-based limited liability partnership. It filed to do business in Ohio on March 23.
The property’s former owner, WEC 99J-66 LLC, no longer has business filings with the Ohio Secretary of State’s office. The company appears to be based in Delaware. Attempts to contact WEC 99J-66 LLC through its agent, the Corporation Trust Company in Delaware, were unsuccessful.
It’s unclear how long CVS has operated in Mount Vernon at its current location. The nearest CVS locations to Mount Vernon are in Newark and Mansfield.
