High winds. Check.

Possible strong thunderstorms. Check.

Temperature change of about 40 degrees in a day? Check.

Yep, it’s spring-like weather in north central Ohio.

With no apparent regard for the fact we’re all dealing with the effects of COVID-19, Mother Nature has decided to unleash a bit more for us to think about this weekend.

First, all of north central Ohio — including Richland, Ashland, Knox and Crawford counties — remains under a hazardous weather outlook, according to the National Weather Service office in Cleveland.

Expect gusty winds of 35-45 mph through this afternoon ahead of and behind a passing cold front. A line of showers will develop just west of I-71 late morning and move east across the area through the early afternoon.

The primary threat with this line includes scattered thunderstorms and the potential for pockets of damaging winds reaching 50-60 mph.

The good news is the high today is expected to be around 67 degrees. But the low temp on Saturday night is expected to dip down to about 24 degrees, a difference of 43 degrees.

On Saturday, it will start mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 35. North winds of 11 to 13 mph are expected. It wull be mostly clear Saturday night with northeast winds only reaching 7 mph.

Expect sunny skies on Sunday with a high near 46 and east winds of 6 mph.

Rain is expected to return overnight Sunday, mainly after 2 a.m. It will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 36. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
