MOUNT VERNON — A Warsaw man’s hunting infraction will keep him out of the fields for the next year after an appearance Tuesday before Mount Vernon Municipal Court Judge John Thatcher.
Thatcher ruled that Ronnie McCain, 41, of Warsaw, was found guilty of two counts of Possession of Deer Parts without a Valid Hunting Tag. The Court sentenced him to pay a $100 fine, serve five days in jail, suspended his hunting license for one year, and ordered him to forfeit two sets of deer antlers.

May 22
Three people were found guilty after trials were held at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on May 22.
Jennifer Mink, 34, of Mansfield, was found guilty of Possession of Marijuana and Improper Lane Usage. The Court sentenced her to pay a $150 fine and suspended her operator’s license for 180 days for the Possession charge and to pay court costs only for the Improper Lane Usage charge.
Abby Benner, 25, of Centerburg, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension, Littering from a Vehicle, and Operating a Vehicle with Expired Plates. The Court sentenced her to pay a $300 fine for the DUS charge and a $15 fine for Littering.
Shandan Hitchens, 24, of Waverly, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension, Speeding, and Operating a Vehicle with Expired Plates. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine for the DUS charge, a $35 fine for Speeding, and a $25 fine for the Expired Plates charge.

There were 16 people found guilty after arraignments and hearings were held at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on May 21. McCain’s case was detailed above. Other cases included:
Licia Edwards, 22, of Newark, was found guilty of Possession of Marijuana. The Court sentenced her to pay a $150 fine.
Daizya Brown, 23, of Howard, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentence her to pay a $35 fine.
Matthew Gottermeyer, 42, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle with Fictitious Plates. The Court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine.
Caleb Sarge, 26, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine and serve three days in jail, with all time stayed until a sentence review hearing on Aug. 20.
Nick Williams, 36, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Failing to Confine his Dog. The Court sentenced him to pay a $50 fine.
Jerry Tinsley, 27, of Danville, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $45 fine.
Jerry Trisdale, 53, of Hillsboro, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or a Drug of Abuse. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 173 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control, and suspended his operator’s license for two years.
Kori Cooley, 29, of Danville, was found guilty of Domestic Violence. He will be sentenced on July 2, 2019 following a pre-sentence investigation.
Kenneth Davis, 46, of Centerburg, was found guilty of Driving Under a 12-Point Suspension and Resisting Arrest. The Court sentenced him to serve 21 days in jail for the DUS charge and to serve 21 days in jail, with all time suspended for Resisting Arrest.
Scott Schaade, 23, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Criminal Damaging. The Court sentenced him to serve 90 days in jail, with 85 days suspended, and placed him on two years of probation.
Matthew Knipp, 33 of Crestline, was found guilty of Assault and Theft. The Court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, with 150 days suspended, and placed him on two years of probation for each charge.
Tonya McBride, 54, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments. The Court sentenced her to serve 10 days in jail.
James Fowler, 70, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol. The Court sentenced him to pay a $1,000 fine, serve 365 days in jail, with 335 days suspended, placed him on three years of community control, suspended his operator’s license for three years, and ordered him to forfeit the truck he was driving during the incident to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.
Drew Mitchell, 21, of Centerburg, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.
Andrew Hartley, 20, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Aggravated Menacing. He will be sentenced on July 2, 2019 following a pre-sentence investigation.

Corey Anderson, 24, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Criminal Trespassing. The Court sentenced him to serve three days in jail.
Jonathan Larue, 29, of Mount Gilead, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence, Speeding, and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days, and suspended his operator’s license for one year for the OVI charge and a $25 fine for Speeding. He was sentenced to serve three days in jail for the Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle charge.
Travis Ratcliff, 38, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Theft, Criminal Mischief, and Resisting Arrest. The Court sentenced him to serve 75 days in jail for the Theft charge, 60 days in jail for the Criminal Mischief charge, and 75 days in jail for Resisting Arrest.
Charles Edmister, 31, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle with Fictitious Plates. The Court sentenced him to serve three days in jail with all jail time stayed until a sentence review hearing.
Brian Mulkey, 41, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine, serve 30 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days and complete the Mount Vernon Municipal Court’s Hands Down Program.
Clayton Leinendecker, 21, of Butler, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle After Underage Consumption. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine, serve three days in jail, complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for 90 days.
Thomas Curran, 29, of Centerburg, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $150 fine.
