Crash Reports

May 9

  • Ruth Jones was in the Kroger parking lot in an aisle waiting to park, An unidentified vehicle backed out of its parking space and struck Jones in the rear end. A statement was collected from Jones who said the incident occurred around 5:30 PM. The officer checked the security tapes and was not able to locate the incident.

May 11

  • Timothy L. Kunkel and John Huggins were stopped facing north at the entrance/exit of a Coshocton Ave. business. Kunkel failed to see Huggins behind him and began to back up, striking Huggins in the front end. Kunkel was cited for failure to control.
  • Jeremiah D Cline indicated an unknown vehicle struck his vehicle in a Coshocton Ave. business’ parking lot. Cline did not actually see any vehicle strike his but stated his alarm and headlights were activated. He reported seeing a large white sport utility vehicle in the immediate area but does not know if that was the offending vehicle. Cline reported damage to the rear of his vehicle.

May 13

  • Gregory L. Burgess was traveling north on N. Sandusky St. just south of Calhoun St. A vehicle owned by Nicole L. Sarge was parked on N. Sandusky St on the east side of the roadway. Burgess hit an object in the roadway causing him to strike Sarge’s vehicle.
  • Gregory D. Quick was traveling north on Park St. at E. High St. Jane A. Lentz was traveling west on E. High St. at Park St. Quick failed to yield the right-of-way at the stop sign to Lentz who was already in the intersection, causing Quick to strike Lentz. Quick was cited for a stop sign violation.

Incident Reports

May 9

  • Units were dispatched to an apartment on Follin Ave. in reference to a disturbance. After an investigation, Brittany Tomlin was arrested for a probation violation.

May 10

  • An officer was dispatched to N. Gay St. on a report of a theft from a vehicle. When the officer arrived, the complainant stated he believed tools were taken oiut of his tool box. A written statement was taken and a report was written.
  • Units responded to an address on Sunset St. on a report of a domestic dispute. When they arrived the officers spoke to the parties involved. The female and male gave conflicting stories about the incident. The female had visible injuries and the male stated he also had injuries. The female agreed to vacate the premises and the male remained at the residence. Photographs were taken along with written statements. A report was forwarded to the City Law Director for review.
  • At approximately 2:19 PM an officer made contact with an individual after a previous incident at W. Vine S. neat Adams St. A large amount of suspected methamphetamine was seized. Justin Bean was arrested and transported to the Knox County Jail. A felony complaint was filed for aggravated possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • An officer responded to the lobby of the MVPD in reference to an assault that occurred on 5/5/19. When the officer arrived he spoke to the complainant who stated he had been assaulted but declined to pursue charges at this time.
  • At approximately 7:08 PM an officer was dispatched to E. Chestnut St. on a report of found property. Upon arrival, a baggie of a white, crystalline substance was located and logged in as evidence.

May 11

  • An officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to stop at a posted stop sign. The driver told the officer he had no drivers license. The officer ran the driver’s information through LEADS which confirmed the driver had no license. The officer then advised the driver that, based on his nervous behavior he would conduct a K9 sniff around the vehicle. The K9 sniff resulted in a positive alert on the driver’s door. The officer located a scale the driver said he used to weigh marijuana so he doesn’t get ripped off. The entire vehicle was searched and nothing further was found. The scale was destroyed. The driver was issued citations for running a stop sign and no operator’s license. He vehicle was impounded.

May 13

  • An officer responded to a Coshocton Ave. business on a report of an employee’s bicycle being stolen. He suspect is unknown and the case is closed.
  • At 9:35 AM an officer responded to a Coshocton Ave. address on a vehicle impound at the request of Code Enforcement. The vehicle was located on the property and subsequently impounded. The vehicle was taken to the city impound lot and the owner was provided a copy of the conditions of release.

April 30

  • Michael Snyder, 44, Green Valley Rd. was arrested and charged with theft, criminal trespass and possessing criminal tools.

May 7

  • Joshua Nicholls, 29, W. High St. was arrested for drug abuse and marijuana drug paraphernalia. He was also cited for driving under a 12-point suspension, expired or unlawful license plates, and failure to comply.

May 9

  • Leta Meyer, 38, St. Louisville, was cited for speed.
  • Rodney Shock, 39, W. High St. was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • William Strouse, 49, N. Sandusky St. was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Brittany Tomlin, 29, Follin Ave. was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.

May 10

  • Patrick Banks, 30, Catherine St. was arrested for an outstanding warrant and for obstructing official business.
  • Justin Bean, 32, Taylor Rd. was arrested and charged with aggravated possession of drugs and illegal use or possession of drugs.
  • Kelsey Pike, 27, W. Curtis St. was charged with assault.
  • Sarah Siegel, 28, N. Salem NY, was cited for failure to yield.
  • Jack Harris, 16, Bellville, was cited for failure to display valid plates.

May 11

  • Elaine Wilson, 57, N. Mulberry St. was cited for a stop sign violation.
  • Daniel Cotter, 28, E. Sugar St. was cited for chauffeur/operators license required and a stop sign violation.
  • Timothy Kunkel, 56, Cedar St. was cited for failure to control.
  • Eric Shultz, 27, Martinsburg Rd. was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Kaitlyn Gilbert, 19, E. Burgess St. was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

May 12

  • Barbara Garner, 49, Marengo, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Michael Aliff, 46, N. Sandusky St. was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.
