MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon Municipal Court Judge John Thatcher found 26 people guilty this week after arraignments and hearings n cases brought before his bench.
May 6
Mary Ann Dales, 39, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments. The Court sentenced her to serve two days in jail.
Emily Peck, 65, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of going Left of Center. The Court sentenced her to pay court costs.
Isabella Stevens, 19, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Without a Valid License. The Court sentenced her to pay a $250 fine.
Jason Stevens, 40, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct. The Court sentenced him to pay a $150 fine.
Buck Stevens, 42, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct. The Court sentenced him to pay a $150 fine.
Robert Strehle, 20, of Howard, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence and Possession of Marijuana. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year for the OVI charge and to pay a $150 fine for the Possession of Marijuana charge.
Brittany Tomlin, 29, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Petty Theft. She will be sentenced on June 17, 2019 following a pre-sentence investigation.
Travis Bellman, 22, of Howard, was found guilty of Driving Without a Valid License. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.
Christopher Ballard, 33, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle With an Expired License Plates and Not Wearing a Seatbelt. The Court sentenced him to pay a $35 fine for having Expired Plates and a $30 fine for Not Wearing a Seatbelt.
Michael Hedinger, 37, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Without a Valid License. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine.
Director of Law Rob Broeren represented the State of Ohio in the cases of Dales and all three Stevens’ cases.
Assistant Director of Law Brittany Whitney represented the State of Ohio and the City of Mount Vernon in the remaining cases.

Jadie Sacks, 18, of Newark, was found guilty of Speeding. The Courts sentenced her to pay a $25 fine.
Steven Corzine, 19, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Failing to Keep an Assured Clear Distance Ahead. The Court sentenced him to pay a $35 fine.
Cassi Blair, 31, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Failing to Register her Dog. The Court sentenced her to pay a $45 fine.
Audrianna Clupper, 22, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Failing to Signal before turning and Failing to Confine her Dog. The Court sentenced her to pay a $25 fine for Failing to Signal and a $15 fine for Failing to Confine her Dog.
Nichole Flecknoe, 27, of Columbus, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol. The Court sentenced her to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed her on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended her operator’s license for one year.
Steven Russell, 48, of Centerburg, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension and Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $300 fine for the DUS charge and a $35 fine for Speeding.
Debora Nelson, 32, of Brinkhaven, was found guilty of Failing to Use Reasonable Control. The Court sentenced her to pay a $45 fine.
Tyler Allen, 20, of Howard, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension and Failing to Display a License Plate on his vehicle. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine for the DUS charge and a $15 fine for Failing to Display a License Plate.
Donald Kennedy, 25, of Howard, was found guilty of three counts of Theft, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possessing Criminal Tools, and Criminal Trespassing. The Court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, with 152 days suspended on each charge and placed him on two years of probation.
Jennifer Saunders, 39, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Criminal Damaging. The Court sentenced her to serve 90 days in jail, with 65 days suspended, and placed her on two years of probation with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days.

The Court sentenced her to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed her on two years of community control, and suspended her operator’s license for one year.

Jason McCoy, 40, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay court costs and to serve five days in jail, with all time stayed until a sentence review hearing on Aug. 7.
Amanda Ross, 47 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Changing Lanes without Safety. The Court sentenced her to pay a $35 fine.
