April 12

  • The complainant reported a unknown subject had placed numerous bags of trash in the victim’s business dumpster in Centerburg. The suspect was located and cited.
  • The complainant advised a disabled vehicle was parked on her property. A 24-hour wait was placed on the vehicle on 4-8-19. The vehicle was subsequently inventoried and towed.

April 13

  • The complainant called the KCSO to document an incident in Gambier at the intersection of Gaskin Ave., and Woodside Dr. The complainant said his son was riding his bicycle and someone shot it with a paintball gun. The complainant stated three individuals in a white car were riding around the area with a paintball gun.
  • The complainant reported Robert M. Troyer was trying to cut the finger of the victim off with a knife because the victim had gotten a tattoo on the finger. Troyer was arrested.

April 14

  • The complainant called the KCSO to report an unidentified male had followed her 21-year-old daughter and 18-year-old son home from the Dollar General store in Martinsburg.
  • The complainant/victim called the KCSO to report a piece of his farming equipment had been taken from a property on Old Delaware Rd. He noted he leases the equipment for farming. The complainant stated he had observed the John Deere ground driven rake on the property on Friday, April 12, 2019. He said he received a phone call from the woman who leases the equipment to him and she said the rake was no longer on the property. The equipment was described as being green and yellow and was about 10 feet long. The complainant said he does not know the serial number or model number.
  • The complainant called the KCSO to report the license plate on his vehicle had either been lost or stolen. He said he believed it happened at the fairgrounds auction and wanted it reported.
  • A deputy was dispatched to the incident location on Wooster Rd. The complainant advised the deputy that person(s) unknown had entered his business through a damaged window. He showed the deputy where holes had been punched in the wall and wanted it documented.
  • R.C. Smail was arrested on an outstanding warrant for domestic violence and menacing. He was handcuffed and taken to the Knox County Jail without incident.
  • A deputy was dispatched to the Kenyon College Campus Safety Office on a report of found drug paraphernalia. The item was found in an undisclosed room on Brooklyn Ave. It was picked up and placed in the KCSO evidence room and marked for destruction.
