MOUNT VERNON — Eighteeen people were found guilty this week in Judge John Thatcher’s Mount Vernon Municipal Courtroom.

Listed below are the individual cases by date.

March 11

Four people were found guilty at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on March 11, 2019.

Robert Wheeler, 48 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.

Lauren Forney, 20 of Eastlake, Ohio, was found guilty of Failure to Control. The Court sentenced her to pay a $150 fine.

Mary Ross, 69 of Coshocton, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced her to pay a $150 fine.

Sutton Black, 24 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of driving without a valid license. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine.

Director of Law Rob Broeren represented the City of Mount Vernon in the Wheeler case.

Assistant Director of Law Brittany Whitney represented the State of Ohio and the City of Mount Vernon in the remaining cases.

March 12

Thirteen people were found guilty at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on March 12, 2019.

Casey Arck, 37 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Taking an Animal Out of Season. The Court sentenced him to pay a $150 fine, serve 60 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on one year of probation.

Amber Rhinebolt, 32 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced her to pay a $35 fine.

Paul Swetnam, 37 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Criminal Trespassing. The Court sentenced him to serve three days in jail.

Grant Zody, 45 of Howard, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $300 fine.

Ryan Llewellyn, 26 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Theft. The Court sentenced him to serve 30 days in jail.

Brandon Butler, 22 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Criminal Trespassing. The Court sentenced him to serve five days in jail.

Ryan Glass, 31 of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Unauthorized Use of Property and Failing to Keep an Assured Clear Distance Ahead. The Court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended, and placed him on two years of probation.

Randy Rittenour, 37 of Utica, was found guilty of Endangering Children. The Court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, with 165 days suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days.

Jody Punches, 33 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Misconduct in front of Emergency Personnel and Theft. The Court sentenced her to serve 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended, and placed her on two years of probation for the Theft charge and to serve 14 days in jail for the Misconduct charge.

Eliger Mosby III, 41 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Petty Theft. The Court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days and attend and complete the Court’s Social Responsibility clinic.

Jennifer Ward, 39 of Sunbury, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced her to pay a $250 fine.

Cody Lewis, 25 of Howard, was found guilty of Criminal Trespassing. The Court sentenced him to serve 60 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on two years of probation.

Elias Roman, 27 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Criminal Mischief. He will be sentenced on April 16, 2019 following a pre-sentence investigation.

One person was found guilty at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on March 13, 2019.

Jeffery Benefiel, 38 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an OVI/ALS Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine and serve three days in jail.

Director of Law Rob Broeren represented the City of Mount Vernon in this case.
