John L. Yarman Jr., 82, of Howard passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019 at the Country Court Nursing Home.

He was born on Jan. 29, 1937 in Mount Vernon to John L Yarman Sr. and Earlene (Tucker) Yarman-McMains.

John was employed for over 27 years at the Jarvis B. Webb Company where he was a fitter welder. He was very active in the NRA, the TIP Program, the Knox County 4-H and was a member of the Howard United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed woodworking, hunting and being in the outdoors. But most of all, John loved the time he spent with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Betty (Barton) Yarman; his son John (Ann) Yarman III; his daughters Barba (Jim) BeVard, Linda Yarman; eight grandchildren, Jesse BeVard, Dawn BeVard, Breanna Hayes-Yarman, Levi Yarman, Elijah Yarman, Rebekah Yarman, Lukas Yarman and Seth Yarman; and his mother Earlene Yarman-McMains.

John was preceded in death by his father John L. Yarman Sr.

Friends may call on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019 from noon to 1 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. A service will follow, beginning at 1 p.m., with Rev. Carl Bender officiating. Burial will take place in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Kindred Hospice or the Knox County 4-H.
