MOUNT VERNON – Southside Diner is excited to publicize the successful transfer of ownership from its founders Roger McCoy and Myron Coblentz to long time general manager Paul Neighbarger and his wife Beth.
When discussing the transition, McCoy offered, “While the restaurant has been our passion for many years, it is time for us to move on and there is no better person to carry it forward than Paul. I am certain that he will maintain the emphasis on the Southside Diner values, service and excellence.”
Regarding the experienced staff, Paul also proudly announced that he is retaining all current employees “to ensure that the business efficiently continues to accomplish its goals and flourish, many of which that have been with Southside Diner for over 20 years.”
New owner Paul is overjoyed. “I am honored that Roger and Myron have struck this deal and entrusted me to carry on the restaurant they created. Along with the wonderful staff that has supported this transition, we will strive to preserve its foundation and focus to make it better.
“I am humbled and encouraged that all of the Southside Diner employees have decided to continue under my leadership.
“We will continue to support our community as Roger and Myron have done for years, with the focus on non-profit organizations such as Hospice of Knox County, Knox County Humane Society and many others that they have supported for years.”
The team at Southside Diner would like to congratulate and celebrate McCoy and Coblentz’s tenure, as the two established the business over 24 years ago. They will continue to support the Southside Diner in mentoring and networking.
McCoy and Coblentz thank all the customers and employees through the years and encourage feedback as they look to a bright future and to continue their present relationships.
They will still be operating Watts Restaurant in Utica and the Athens Greek Restaurants in Mansfield, and look forward to your continued support.
