Robert A. “Bob” Griffith, age 79, of Mount Vernon passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at his home. He was born on July 7, 1939 in Galena, Ohio to the late Garland and Pauline (Hubbard) Griffith. Bob was the owner of Bob’s Tree Service. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #760 Mount Vernon, the Sons of Amvets Post #95, and the Moose Lodge #3000 in Illinois. He is survived by his daughter Wendi Griffith; his son Kenneth (Fran) Griffith; step-daughter Laura Woodruff; step-son Marvin Woodruff; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; his sisters Nancy (Bob) Piar, Linda Mills; and his brother Glenn Griffith. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his loyal canine companion Pepper. Friends may call on Thursday, January 3, 2018 from 11AM – 1PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1PM with Mr. David Dahlstein officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery in Centerburg.
