Ray McCann, age 82, of Mount Vernon, Ohio passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon. He was born on April 2, 1936 in Tazewell, Virginia to the late Henry and Golda (Myers) McCann.
Ray went to school and graduated from Centerburg High School. After graduation he went to work for BF Goodrich in Mount Vernon. Later he started working for the Mount Vernon News in the advertising department before retiring. He loved slick cars, going to car shows and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a member of the Center Lodge #86 F&AM in Johnstown, Ohio and would attend meetings at the Mount Zion Lodge #9 F&AM.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn (Piper) McCann; his daughter, Traci (Howard) Knox; a brother, Lynn (Sandy) McCann; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his brothers, Ross and Ronnie McCann; and a sister, Bernise Spearman.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
