Michael David Rowe

Michael David Rowe, 55, of Mount Vernon passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 20, 1963 in Mount Vernon to Bonnie Jean (Lewis) Rowe and the late David Martin Rowe.

Michael worked in the Maintenance Department at Omega in Sunbury and was a graduate of the Real Estate program at the Ohio State University Newark. He was a member of the Central Christian Church in Mount Vernon. His hobbies included but not limited to paintballing with sons, rescuing abandoned animals, especially dogs, taking walks with dogs, motorcycle riding and since 1980 racing a Pacemakers Dragway Park. Michael had a great respect for our Military. He loved spending time with his family and always made sure he got the last word.

Michael is survived by his wife, Martha R. (Siegfried) Rowe whom he married on July 15, 1983; sons, Michael Louis (Suzanna) Rowe of Fredericktown and Shawn Michael (Kristina) Rowe of Bangs; grandchildren, Sidney Rachel Rowe, Shawn Michael Rowe Jr. and Cameron Matthew Rowe; his mother, Bonnie of Mount Vernon; his sister, Traci Lynn (Jim) Rowe-Caple of Hilliard; and his canine companions, Sable and Tiger.

In addition to his father, Michael was preceded in death by two of his canine companions, Chief and Jasmine.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High St., Mount Vernon where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019 with Pastor Ken Springer officiating. A final run at Pacemakers Dragway Park will follow the funeral service and burial will be in Mound View Cemetery.
