Jean Phyllis Bevington, age 96, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 16, 1922 in Knox County the daughter of Walter and Nana (Katz) Sellers. Jean graduated from Amity High School and retired from Walmart in Mount Vernon.
Jean enjoyed sewing, working in her yard and taking care of the flower garden. She was a member of Colonial City Baptist Church. Jean was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother that will be missed by many.
She is survived by her son David (Reecalee) Bevington of Mount Vernon; four grandchildren, Andrea (David) McCallister, John Caime, Jason (Jaime) Bevington and Shawnna (Matt) Clawson; eight great grandchildren, Serena Shields, Hunter Shields, Tyler Bevington, Cody Bevington, Aleigha Clawson, Zane Clawson, Dean McCallister, Jake McCallister; three great-great grandchildren, Isabell Bevington, Timothy Bevington and Kaiden Bevington; and a sister, Erdene Krell of El Cajon, California.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Delbert Bevington; a daughter, Cynthia Caime; brothers and sister, Ernest Sellers, Richard Sellers and Virginia Weatherly.
The family will observe a private burial in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Jean Phyllis Bevington.
