William M. “Bill” Aleshire Jr., 81, of Butler, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon.

He was born on April 22, 1937 in Columbus, Ohio to the late William and Ethel (Milless) Aleshire Sr. B

Bill was employed and retired from Ancon in Hilliard after many years of service. He was a veteran serving in the United States Army.

Bill enjoyed fishing, boating, wood working and target shooting. But most of all, he loved the time he spent with his family and friends.

Bill is survived by his wife Joan (White) Stringfellow Aleshire; his daughter Suzanne (Brock) Hopkins, of Gambier; his son Phillip (Cheryl) Aleshire, of Sugar Creek; three grandchildren, Emily Aleshire, Allison Aleshire, Ryan Aleshire; and his sister Martha Hamilton, of Grove City.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife Priscilla Aleshire. Friends may call on Friday, Dec. 29, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 1  p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home. A service will follow, beginning at 1 p.m.

Burial, with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council, will be held in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
