Lowell E. Mooney, 84, of Mount Liberty passed away at his home on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018 with his loving family at his side.
He was born on April 5, 1934 in Mount Liberty to the late Robert and Florence (McKinstry) Mooney. Lowell was employed at Cooper’s here in Mount Vernon and retired with over 43 years of service. He also owned and operated Mooney’s Tree Trimming and Dry Creek Sales.
Lowell was a fan of The Ohio State University. He enjoyed horses and attending auctions. He was a member of the Willow Grove Advent Christian Church. But most of all, Lowell loved the time he spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife, of over 65 years, Shirleen (Stoneburner) Mooney; his son Michael (Laurie) Mooney; two daughters Cathy Summers, Linda (Dr. Gary) Parson; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Jim) Conde, Shawn (Sheri) Mattox, Tiffany (Heath) Mickley, Kaitlyn Mooney, Justin Mooney; nine great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
In addition to his parents, Lowell was preceded in death by his brother Wayne Mooney. Friends may call on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Willow Grove Advent Christian Church (7192 Columbus Rd. Mount Liberty, Ohio 43048).
A service will be held on Friday, at the church, beginning at 11 a.m. with Pastor Chad Davis and Mr. Nathan Yost officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Liberty Cemetery.
