Nora M. Bostic, 84, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018 at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon.
She was born on Oct. 26, 1934 in Grundy, Virginia, the daughter of James A. and Nora F. (Stacy) Childress.
Nora previously worked as a nurse for Martin Memorial Hospital in Mount Vernon, Heartland Nursing Home in Centerburg, Ohio, and also served as a private duty nurse in Knox County. She was a member of the Licensed Practical Nurses Association for over 35 years and served as the Nursing Education Coordinator for the State of Ohio.
She is survived by her children; Joyce (Dick) Wilder VanHorn, of Howard, and Bruce (Mary) Bostic, of Missouri; 10 grandchildren, Heidi (Curtis) Wagner, Rachel (Casey) Tyson, Ryan (Pablo) Bostic, Jessica French, Jay Bostic, Brian (Alyssa) Bostic, Hannah Bostic, Amy (Scott) Mathison, Melissa (Dustin) Lyons and William (Nicole) Rexroth; 19 great grandchildren; two brothers, James (Daryl) Childress, Clyde (Rita) Childress; four sisters, Janice (Eulis) Patrick, Elizabeth (Richard) Monk, Wilma (Danny) Hall, Darlene (David) Lewis, and a daughter-in-law, Dru Bostic.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Bostic, a brother, Raymond Childress and a sister Gay Edgin.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 24, 2018 beginning at 11 a.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 E. High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio where friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
