MOUNT VERNON — Three days of courtroom proceedings led to guilty verdicts for 31 people this week in Mount Vernon Municipal Court.
Mount Vernon Municipal Court Judge John Thatcher disposed of the following cases Dec. 17 through 19 in his courtroom.
Dec. 17
Nine people were found guilty after pre-trial hearings were held at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on Dec. 17.
Jonathan Flack, 45, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension and having Expired Plates. The Court sentenced him to pay a $300 fine.
Seth Graves, 28, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Assault. The Court sentenced him to pay a $100 fine and placed him on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days and complete the Court’s Hands Down program.
John Capoccia, 58, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Menacing and Disorderly Conduct. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine, serve 30 days in jail, with 25 days suspended, and placed him on two years of probation for the Menacing charge.
Rita Depolo, 50, of Gambier, was found guilty of allowing her Animals to Run at Large. The Court sentenced her to pay a $200 fine.
Sandra Stigall, 51, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle while Under the Influence. The Court sentenced her to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed her on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended her operator’s license for one year.
John Hand, 45, of Nashport, Ohio, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle while Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 173 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days, and suspended his operator’s license for two years.
Dewayne Hubbard, 65, of Howard, was found guilty of Failing to Yield to a Pedestrian. The Court sentenced him to pay a $150 fine.
John Gorley, 54, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Aggravated Menacing. The Court sentenced him to pay a $100 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days and complete the Court’s Hands Down program.
Amber Miray, 44, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of two counts of Menacing. She will be sentenced on Jan. 21, 2019, following a pre-sentence investigation.
Director of Law Rob Broeren represented the City of Mount Vernon in the Flack case.
Assistant Director of Law Brittany Whitney represented the State of Ohio and the City of Mount Vernon in the remaining cases.
Dec. 18
Nineteen people were found guilty after arraignments and hearings were held at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on Dec. 18.
Jonathan Combs, 31, of Columbus, was found guilty of Driving Under a License Forfeiture Suspension, Not Having a Muffler on his vehicle, and Failing to Wear a Seatbelt. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine for the DUS charge, a $25 for having no muffler, and a $20 fine for the seatbelt charge.
John Annett, 51, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct/Persisting.
The Court sentenced him to pay a $150 fine and serve one day in jail.
William Cleaves, 50, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine.
Steven Priestas, 67, of Westerville, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $35 fine.
Trent Conant, 20, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.
John Drenik, 59, of Danville, was found guilty of Hunting without Permission. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine.
Steven Dupuy, 20, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Marijuana Drug Paraphernalia. The Court sentenced him to pay a $150 fine.
Joseph Hoxworth, 36, of Brinkhaven, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension and having an Inoperative Tail Light. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.
Franklin Flood, 43, of Killbuck, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension, Speeding, and having Expired Plates. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine for the DUS charge and a $25 fine for each of the additional charges.
Michael Rine, 47, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct/Persisting. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine and serve one day in jail.
Roger Legg, 31, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana Drug Paraphernalia. The Court sentenced him to pay a $150 fine.
Taylor Gray, 30, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under Suspension. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine.
Alvin Burton, 33, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments. The Court sentenced him to serve 10 days in jail.
Joyce Meisenhelder, 43, of Heath, was found guilty of Public Indecency. The court sentenced her to serve seven days in jail and complete 50 hours of community service.
Hunter Phillips, 25, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Assault and Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments. The Court sentenced him to serve 173 days in jail.
Ray Toller, 30, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments. The Court sentenced him to serve 30 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on one year of probation.
Devin Weber, 19, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of two counts of Theft. The Court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, with 170 days suspended, and placed him on two years of probation with the following condition: attend and complete the Social Responsibility Clinic.
Scott Schaade, 22, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under a 12-Point Suspension. The Court sentenced him to serve three days in jail.
Anna Tucker, 35, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct. The Court sentenced her to pay a $150 fine.

Stacey Sullins, 51, of Gambier, was found guilty of Backing without Safety. The Court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine.
