Richard C. “Dick” Ebersole, 84, of Fredericktown, Ohio, passed away on Monday, Dec. 10, 2018 at the Laurels of Mount Vernon.
He was born on Nov. 29, 1934 in Fredericktown, Ohio, the son of Leland and Florence (Robinson) Ebersole. Dick served in the United States Army and retired in 1993 after 15 years of owning and operating Dee Jays Meat Processing in Fredericktown.
Dick served as an Assistant Fire Chief for several years with the Fredericktown Fire Department. He was a life member of the F.F.A. Alumni Association, Chester Lodge #238, Evelyn Chapter #146 Order of Eastern Star and Colonial City Moose Lodge #2555. He attended the First Presbyterian Church of Fredericktown.
He is survived by his wife Judy (Mosher) Ebersole, whom he married on Dec. 27, 1957; a daughter, Jill (Mike Hess) Ebersole, of Fredericktown; a brother, Robert (Betty) Ebersole, of Cochran, Georgia; two sisters, Ruth Reeder, of Butler, Bonnie Hobson, of Ashland; sister-in-law, Patty Smith Ebersole; brothers-in-law, Ron (Dianne) Mosher, Jim (Donna) Mosher and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, C. Ernest Ernie Ebersole, W. Lewis Ebersole and Lloyd Ebersole; three sisters, Vivian Morris, Lillian Lower and Sylvia Aileen Bishop.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018 beginning at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Fredericktown, 17 S. Main Street, Fredericktown, Ohio 43019 where friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. Christine Burns will be officiating.
Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown. Memorial contributions in Dick’s name may be made to Hospice of Knox County, Fredericktown F.F.A. (Farmers and Merchants Award Fund) or the First Presbyterian Church of Fredericktown.
