PLAIN TOWNSHIP — A Wooster man died Saturday after a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Dec. 5 in Plain Township in Wayne County, according to the The Ohio State Highway Patrol.
David L. Flinn, 70, died of his injuries after the crash occurred at approximately 2:31 p.m. on County Road 149 (Elyria Rd.) at the intersection of County Road 30A (Old Lincoln Way Road).
The crash involved a gray 2011 Toyota Sienna driven by Sean A. Keefe 59 of Winfield, West Virginia, and a red 1996 Nissan pickup truck driven by Flinn.
According to the investigation, Flinn was traveling eastbound on County Road 30A. Keefe was traveling northbound on County Road 149. Keefe failed to yield from a stop sign and was struck by Flinn’s vehicle.
Flinn was transported by New Pittsburg Fire Department to Wooster Community Hospital. He was later life flighted to Akron City Hospital then transported to University Hospital. Flinn succumbed to his injuries on Dec. 8 at 2:24 a.m. He was pronounced deceased by Doctor Presa.
Keefe was evaluated at the scene for his injuries by New Pittsburg Fire Department. He was not transported to the hospital.
Keefe was wearing his seat belt. Flinn was not wearing his seat belt.
The crash remains under investigation. Alcohol is not a factor in this crash.
