Even at its height of activity, Ankenytown was a quiet place. This vintage postcard shows the not exactly bustling downtown.

Looking north up Mansfield Road through Ankenytown. The grain elevator, built in 1908, sits next to where the railroad tracks used to run through town.
-
The railroad grade entering Ankenytown from the east is now empty ground used for storing farm equipment. It is presumably from this direction that the noisy train came in 1851 startling local farmers into action.

This postcard view of Ankenytown was taken around 1920, before rural roads were paved. The view is looking south. What is now Ohio 95 (designated a few years after this) is the stretch going up the hill in the distance.
