MOUNT VERNON – Judge John Thatcher found 23 people guilty this week after hearings and trials were held at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on Nov. 19 to 21.

The Nov. 21 docket included four cases:

Katrina Reed, 27 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments. The Court sentenced her to serve 90 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed her on two years of probation with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days.

Ryan Kise, 25 of Walhonding, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $45 fine.

Delenn Heffelfinger, 19 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under a License Forfeiture Suspension. The Court sentenced her to pay a $200 fine.

Mark Daggett, 56 of Westerville, was found guilty of Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $45 fine.

Director of Law Robert Broeren represented the City of Mount Vernon in the Reed case.

Assistant Director of Law Brittany Whitney represented the State of Ohio and the City of Mount Vernon in the remaining cases.

The Nov. 20 docket included eight cases:

Edward Smith, 42 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The Court sentenced him to serve one day in jail.

Zachary Wagoner, 28 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of two counts of Driving under Suspension and one count of Speeding. He was sentenced to pay a $250 fine for each count of Driving under Suspension.

Tristan Ray, 19 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating an Unsafe Vehicle. The Court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine.

Charles Ziegler, 82 of Howard, was found guilty of Failure to Use Reasonable Control. The Court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine.

Samantha Hunnicut, 31 of Gambier, was found guilty of Driving under Suspension and Speeding. She was sentenced to pay a $200 fine for Driving under Suspension and a $15 fine for Speeding.

Frederick Murphy, 50 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The Court sentenced him to serve 24 days in jail.

Sidney Cornell, 42 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Failure to Disclose Personal Information to a Law Enforcement Officer. The Court sentenced him to serve 15 days in jail.

Matthew Will, 44 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Assault, Criminal Damaging, and Menacing. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with credit for time served, placed him on two years of probation, and ordered him to pay restitution to the victim.

The Nov. 19 docket included 11 cases:

Jessica Chapman, 39 of Laurelville, Ohio, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The Court sentenced her to pay a $200 fine.

Joshua Chavis, 37 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Bicycle at Night without a Headlight. The Court sentenced him to pay a $15 fine.

Alan Pelow, 31 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Speeding and Failing to Display a Front License Plate. The Court sentenced him to pay a $40 fine for Speeding and a $15 fine for Failing to Display a Front License Plate.

Mary McGregor, 37 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments. The Court sentenced her to serve 90 days in jail, with 87 days suspended, and placed her on two years of probation.

Ronald Kelly, 62 of Johnstown, was found guilty of Criminal Trespassing. The Court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine, serve 30 days in jail, with all time suspended, and placed him on two years of probation.

Benjamin Seeley, 23 of Lakewood, Ohio, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Hope Woodward-Ginther, 19 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced her to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed her on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended her operator’s license for one year.

Angelica Ulis, 32 of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced her to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed her on two years of community control with the following conditions: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended her operator’s license for one year.

George Hess, 37 of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Reckless Operation of a Vehicle. The Court sentenced him to pay a $50 fine.

Elizabeth Bond, 53 of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Failing to Reinstate her License and Not Using her Turn Signal. The Courts sentenced her to pay a $200 fine for the Failure to Reinstate charge and a $25 fine for the Turn Signal violation.

Robert Hines, 53 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Domestic Violence, Aggravated Menacing, and two counts of Violating a Temporary Protection Order. He will be sentenced on December 17, 2018 following a pre-sentence investigation.
