Gary Earnest Brubaker, 68, of Fredericktown, passed away on Monday, Nov. 19, 2018 at Knox Community Hospital.
He was born in Knox County on Nov. 12, 1950 to the late Harold Earnest and Helen Irene (Lifer) Brubaker.
Gary honorably served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Trinity Community Church in Loudonville. Gary was a talented woodworker, using the wood from the family turkey farm. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors and his greatest accomplishment was restoring an Amish farm.
Gary is survived by his wife, Kelly (Stearns) Brubaker; son, Jesse (Kathrin) Brubaker, of Wooster; daughter, Lindsey (Adam) Helmintoller, of Concord, North Carolina; grandchildren, Hailey and Nicolas Brubaker and Gwenyth and Willem Helmintoller; step daughters, Kristine (Max) Oeschle, of Mount Vernon, and her daughter, Katie and Jessalynn (Scott) Howard, of Mansfield and her children, Katy, Isabelle, Hannah and Noah; sisters, Sheryl (Clinton “Junior”) Hawk, of Fredericktown, Janet (Donald) Banbury, of Mount Vernon, and Sandra Brubaker, of Bellville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara; a brother, Harold David Brubaker; and baby Jordan Oeschle.
The family will receive friends from Noon until the time of a memorial service celebrating the life of Gary at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018 at the Trinity Community Church, 127 South Union St., Loudonville, with Pastor John Temple officiating. A private burial will be in Ankenytown Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
