Robbi Alan Leyda, 60, of Mount Vernon passed away unexpectedly, Friday, November 9, 2018 at Knox Community Hospital, due to stroke complications.

Robbi was born October 18, 1958 in Ashland, Ohio to the late Albert Leyda.. He is survived by his mother, Betty Beaver, Lakeville, Ohio.

He served as a Surface Sonar Technician aboard the USS Badger Destroyer Escort in the U.S. Navy, 1977-1983.

Robbi was a member of the Central Christian Church, Mount Vernon. He was a brave and gentle soul, that ask nothing of no one; instead he always lent a hand where needed.

He had a great fondness for food and loved sharing recipes, walking, everywhere, he loved nature.

Aside from his mother, surviving are step-brothers; Doug (Donna Trares) Beaver, Jack (Lori) Boesken, both of Mount Vernon. Gregg (Kim) Beaver of Akron; step-sisters, Becky Gump, Kim (Mike) Williams and Laurie Monroe, all of Mount Vernon; aunt Evie Duncan, Wooster, uncle Eugene Leyda, Big Prairie, Aunt and uncle Don (Kathryn) Mackey, Lakeville; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

His step-father, Vaughn Beaver; step-mother, Paulyne Leyda and step-sister, Beth Boesken preceded him in death.

Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio at a later date.
