Crash Reports

Oct. 19

  • Tyler J. Popham was going through the ATM drive-thru on Public Square when the trailer it was pulling struck the ATM and the area around it. Popham left the scene without notifying any of the PNC Bank employees. He was cited for failure to control/weaving course.

Oct.20

  • Monica Moran was traveling north on S. Sandusky St. and Chad E. Bockover was traveling east on W. Vine St. Moran failed to stop for the red light at that intersection causing the vehicles to collide. Moran was cited for running a red light.
  • Both units were both stopped in the straight and righthanded lanes at the intersection of 1575 Coshocton Ave. and Coshocton Ave. Anna F. Williams, the lead car remained stopped for three complete traffic light cycles. Finally. Crystal D. Hannegan attempted to pass Williams, however, Williams began traveling and struck Hannegan in the rear.

Incident Reports

Oct. 18

  • An officer was dispatched to Orchard Park on a report of an unauthorized use of a vehicle. Upon arrival, the complainant told the officer her 15-year-old son had taken her fiancee’s vehicle sometime during the night. A statement was collected and a missing person report was completed. The investigation is pending.
  • An officer was dispatched to the Knox County Service Center parking lot on a report that an unauthorized vehicle was parked in one of the numbered employee parking spots. The report was done for documentation.

Oct. 19

  • The MVPD was contacted concerning a stolen cell phone which was stolen on Oct. 18, 2018. The theft occurred in the Mount Vernon Middle School’s lunchroom.
  • An officer responded at 10:04PM to East Chestnut St. on a report of a dog roaming at large. A report was taken and the case will be sent to Animal Control for review.

Oct. 20

  • At 8:05 AM an officer responded to N. Gay St. on a theft complaint. The suspect is unknown at this time. The investigation has been closed and will be re-opened if the suspect is identified or any new leads are developed.
  • At approximately 7:55 PM an officer responded to West High St. in reference to a theft. The officer made contact with the suspect who was being held by store employees. The suspect had attempted to take two breakfast sandwiches from the location He was issued a summons for petty theft and released from the store.

Oct. 21

  • Units were dispatched to E. Vine St. on a report of a male trespassing. The suspect was located, arrested and transported to the Knox County Jail.

  • Joseph Gibson, 32, Martinsburg Rd. was arrested for an outstanding warrant. He was also cited for driving under an FRA suspension.

Oct. 17

  • Hunter Clemons, 15, E. Chestnut St. was charged with the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Oct. 18

  • Jeffrey Petrey, 45, Newark, was charged with an outstanding arrest warrant.
  • Skyler Curtin, 25, Fredericktown, was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.
  • Karrick Mc Kinney, 66, Longitude Dr. was cited for no operator’s license.
  • Troy Kelley, 23, New Delaware Rd. Was cited for DUS.
  • Daniel R. Sullivan, 321, Eastmoor Dr. Was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.
  • Alex Shoemaker, 33, Martinsburg Rd. was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.

Oct. 19

  • Jason Hogan, 41, Howard, was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.
  • Daqle Sough, 39, Pataskala, was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.
  • Melinda Preston, 39, S. Mechanic St. was cited for allowing an unlicensed driver to operate a vehicle.
  • Christopher Lovejoy, 34, Delaware, OH, was cited for speeding.
  • Lindsay Spitz, 20, Leander TX. Was cited for speeding.
  • Roger Carrel, 56, Columbus, was cited for speeding.
  • Tyler Popham, 34, Sycamore St. was cited for failure to control/weaving and for not stopping after an accident.

  • Frederick Murphy, 50, N. Mulberry St. was arrested and charged with possessing drug paraphernalia.
  • Katherine Fuller, 34, W. Pleasant St. was cited for expired or unlawful plates.
  • Joel Eckelbargfer, 29, Fulton, OH, was cited for expired or unlawful plates.
  • Monica Moran, 59, Utica, was cited for running a red light.
  • Rebecca Cronk, 59, Spruce St. was cited for speeding.
  • Vauna Stoutenburgh, 19, Follin Ave. was cited for tail light required.
  • Devin Weber, 18, W. Sugar St. was arrested and charged with theft without consent.
  • Judy Price, 56, Howard, was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.
  • Sheyenne Shellenbarger, 18, Keys Rd. was cited for own/operate a vehicle producing smoke.

Oct. 21

  • Timothy Brown, 37, Orient, OH, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Hugh Smith, 33, Warsaw, OH, was arrested for an outstanding warrant. He was also charged with possessing drug paraphernalia.
  • Zachary Woods, 18, S. Jackson St. was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.
  • Brandon Butler, 21, Greenwood Ave was arrested and charged with criminal trespass, criminal mischief, and obstructing official business.
