Ronald M. Davidson, 73, of Gambier passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Knox Community Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on May 21, 1945 in Mount Vernon to the late William F. and Betty E. (Frye) Davidson.
Ronald was a member of the last graduating class from Howard High School. He worked for Columbia Gas while he was in high school and after graduation; He continued to work for them until he retired as a Supervisor for the Plant and Service Departments. Ronald was a member of the Gambier Fish and Game Club, Colonial City Moose Lodge, and the Ohio Lodge #199, F. & A.M., Bladensburg. He owned and operated a backhoe for many years and was always donating his work to area families. Ronald was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying his father-in-law’s plane. In his spare time, Ronald enjoyed watching basketball, football, golf and keeping up on current events, but most of all he loved to spend time with his family.
Ronald is survived by his junior high school sweetheart, Cherie (Bross) Davidson, whom he married on July 3, 1964; his daughters, Melissa “Missy” (John) Kempton of Mount Vernon and Jacinda “Jay” (Brian) Palm of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Chelsea Kempton of Columbus and Abbi and Bradin Palm of Mount Vernon; brothers, Gary (Joan) Davidson of Mount Vernon and Tom (Harrianne Mills) Davidson of Mountain View, CA; a special brother-in-law, Neil “Colonel” (Nora) Bross of Howard and brother-in-law, Bill Rogers of Mount Vernon; a special niece, Lauren Bross of Columbus; a nephew, Lucas Davidson; and his canine companion, Skye.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his sister, Judith A. Rogers.
