Neil L. Vernon, age 70, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at his residence. He was born on March 30, 1948 in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late Ernest and Lucille (Black) Vernon.
Neil spent his younger days working as a Sherriff’s Deputy for Knox County for several years. He also worked security for a number of companies in Knox County. He mostly was a farmer and spent the majority of his time out in the fields. Neil loved the outdoors, fishing, arrowhead hunting, and classic cars.
He is survived by his children, Bartt (Vicki) Vernon, Brett (Michele) Vernon; 7 grandchildren; and a sister, Karen (Dale) Gerrard.
Along with his parents, Neil is preceded in death by a daughter, Carmen Vernon.
A celebration of life service will take place at a later date.
