Paula Carol Murphy

Paula Carol Murphy, 55, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

She was born on Dec. 25, 1962 in Steubenville, Ohio to William Leo VerStraten and Edythe Walker. Paula served for many years as a manager for McDonald’s and bartended at Holiday Inn South in Lakeland, Florida.

Paula loved the outdoors and enjoyed sitting on the porch feeding the squirrels that she had personally named. She enjoyed watching all cooking shows, fixer uppers and anything to do with the universe. She also enjoyed playing Pokémon Go with her sister.

She is survived by her daughters, Morgan Webster of Lakeland, Florida and Kylie Parrish of Lake Hamilton, Florida; three grandchildren, James, Hannah and Abby Webster; a sister, Terry Vaughan of Lakeland, Florida; a brother, Thom Randles of Mount Vernon. Niece Alissa Morrison, Nephew Evan (Amanda) Vaughan and three great nephews, Landen Vaughan, Dylan Morrison and Wyatt Vaughan, all of Lakeland, Florida as well as several cousins in Mt. Vernon, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her mother Edythe (Walker) Ferris and a brother, David Walker.

The family will observe a Celebration of Life Service at a later date and a private burial will be held in Mound View Cemetery. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Paula Carol Murphy.
