GAMBIER – Kenyon Lords junior Jordan Potter was one of 12 student-athletes to be selected to the 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-District VII Men’s Track and Cross Country Team, as selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Potter is just the second Lords student-athlete to be named Academic All-District. The last was Dan Danning who made the list from 1996 through 1998.

To be eligible for this honor, a student-athlete had to be of at least sophomore standing and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.3. Additionally, since Potter was named to the Academic All-District first team, he becomes eligible for Academic All-America consideration with voting to commence next week.

This academic year, the Minneapolis, Minn., native had a near perfect 4.0 GPA while studying physics.

On the athletic field, Potter was a fixture for the Lords track and field team during discus and shot put events. He earned All-North Coast Athletic Conference accolades for the shot put event in both indoor and outdoor seasons and All-NCAC recognition in the discus during the outdoor campaing.

Potter also broke his previous College record in the discus during the NCAC Outdoor Championship on May 5 as he reached 151-11.
