MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon seniors are crossing off many final moments of their high school careers, but Thursday night’s awards program was a stepping stone towards many firsts they will have in their college careers.
Guidance Department chair Jackie Earnest was thankful for the generosity of the Mount Vernon and Knox County communities. “You are so blessed,” Earnest told the students. “The students are very deserving. You are very hardworking. It was exciting to work with class of 2018. To see the competition and how excellent you were with your academics – pretty exciting.”

Mount Vernon will hold its graduation ceremony at 3 p.m. on May 27 at the Kenyon Athletic Center in Gambier.
