KNOX COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Mar. 2

  • While assisting Probation Officers and KCSO Detectives the suspect, Amanda Grubbs, was found to have an active warrant. Grubbs was arrested and transported to the Knox County Jail.
  • An officer was advised by Dispatch of an identity theft/fraud complaint. The officer spoke with the victim who advised the officer of the incident. A report number was given to the victim.
  • Tammy K. Reedy was leaving the parking lot of a Columbus Rd. business and was attempting to turn left. Reedy struck a vehicle owned by Brian K. Harden before completing the turn. Harden’s vehicle was parked in the lot and there were no occupants.

Mar. 3

  • While on patrol on Mansfield Ave. an officer observed a vehicle on fire. The officer got out to investigate after advising dispatch and the Mount Vernon Fire Department of the situation. He then made sure everyone was out of the vehicle and the residence. College Twp. and the Mount Vernon Fire departments responded and extinguished the fire.
  • Heather L. Somerlade was traveling northeast on Crestrose Dr. when a tree fell in the roadway. Somerlade attempted to swerve right and brake, but hit the tree.
  • Complainant reported finding a safe in his pole barn located on his vacant property. The lock was broken and pry marks were present on the safe. The safe was collected and placed in the evidence room at the sheriff’s office for safe keeping.
  • An officer was sent to the Kenyon College Safety Office to pick up two glass water pipes (bongs). The pipes were taken to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and placed in evidence for destruction at a later date.

Mar. 4

  • An officer arrived at the incident location on Banning Rd. and spoke with the complainant. He advised that unknown persons entered his garage sometime between 3:00 P.M. March 2 and 11:00 P.M. March 3, and removed several items. The complainant also said the suspects also blocked windows with cardboard and piled up numerous items to be taken later. The complainant believed the suspects used a key to the garage that he had hidden. Photographs were taken and a report made to document the incident.
  • The complainant advised his truck broke down on Pipesville Road on March 2. When he returned on March 4, he found damage was done to his truck. Unknown persons had struck the windshield with an object leaving a large hole.
  • The complainant advised his credit card number was used without his knowledge or authorization at a Whitehall Mejier store. The complainant canceled the card and contacted his bank. There are no suspects at this time.
