MOUNT VERNON — Judge John Thatcher found 19 guilty after arraignments and hearings were held at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on Feb. 27, 2018.

Noah Dunn, 20, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle while Under the Influence, failure to stop at a red light, and Possession of Marijuana. For the DUI charge, the court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended and credit for three days, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year. The court sentenced him to pay a $150 fine for the Possession charge.

Dustin Dawson, 32, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Hunting Deer without a Permit. The court sentenced him to pay a $50 fine.

Barbara Wells, 22, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Marijuana. The court sentenced her to pay a $150 fine and suspended her operator’s license for 180 days.

Brandon Green, 32, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Not Wearing a Seatbelt. The court sentenced him to pay a $30 fine.

Nathan Yarman, 23, of Howard, was found guilty of Speeding. The court sentenced him to pay a $35 fine.

Kevin Fawcett, 41, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension and failing to use a turn signal while changing lanes. The court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine for the DUS charge and a $15 fine for failing to use a turn signal.

Rory Shoemaker, 22, of Woodstock, New York, was found guilty of traveling the wrong direction on a one-way street. The court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine.

Raymond Williams, 47, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of two counts of Driving Under an FRA Suspension. The courts sentenced him to pay a total of $550 in fines.

Demetrius Caldwell, 32, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of two counts of Petty Theft. The court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, concurrently, with 128 days suspended and placed him on two years of probation with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days.

Tonia Smith, 42, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Vehicular Trespassing and Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments. The court sentenced her to serve 20 days in jail, concurrently.

Jeremy Dinsmore, 38, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments. The court sentenced him to serve 30 days in jail.

Scott Boylen, 48, of Marengo, was found guilty of Petty Theft. The court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, with 174 days suspended and placed him on two years of probation.

Gretchen Harmon, 54, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence. The court sentenced her to pay a $750 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 160 days suspended, and placed her on two years of community control with the following condition: complete an alcohol and drug assessment within 60 days, and suspended her operator’s license for two years.

Matthew Adams, 23, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Petty Theft and Use of Unauthorized Plates. For the Theft charge, the court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail, with 150 days suspended and placed him on two years of probation with the following condition: compete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days. For the Unauthorized Plates charge, he was sentenced to pay a $125 fine.

Teresa Brown, 61 of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Petty Theft. The court sentenced her to serve 180 days in jail, with 180 days suspended and placed her on two years of probation.

Miranda Wintz, 36, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments. The court sentenced her to serve 60 days in jail.

Kevin Berry, 38, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle while Under the Influence. The court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, and placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Tyler Ferreira, 19, of Gambier, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct/Persisting. The court sentenced him to serve 30 days in jail and placed him on two years of probation.

Jonathon Hinger, 26, of Utica, was found guilty of Menacing. The court sentenced him to serve 30 days in jail and placed him on one year of probation.

Director of Law Rob Broeren represented the State of Ohio and the City of Mount Vernon in these cases.
