Crash Reports

Feb. 12

  • An unknown driver was traveling northbound on Plum Alley and Richard A. Graves was crossing Plum Alley on his bicycle, using the crosswalk. The unknown driver failed to see Graves causing them to collide within the crosswalk. The unknown driver immediately left the area without making contact with Graves. Graves was not injured.
  • Tyler L. Stradley was in the left (west) lane on S. Main St. traveling northbound and turning onto S. Gay St. Daria H. O’Brien was in the right lane also turning onto S. Gay St. O’Brien attempted to change lanes and struck the passenger side of Stradley. O’Brien was cited for changing lanes without safety. There were no reported injuries.

Feb.13

  • Denver William Snyder was stopped facing westbound on Hillcrest Dr. at Verndale Dr. Donna Little was traveling eastbound on Hillcrest Dr. from Verndale Dr. Snyder proceeded to attempt to turn northbound onto Verndale Dr. causing the utility pole hanging from the rear end of his vehicle to strike Little on the roof top near the windshield. Snyder was cited for failure to control/weaving.

Incident Reports

Feb. 12

  • At approximately 5:50 A.M. an officer was dispatched to a Walnut St. residence on a complaint of vandalism` The complainant said the rear passenger side window of her car had been broken out during the night. No items appeared to be taken from the vehicle. Photographs of the damage were taken. There are no suspects at this time.
  • At approximately 1:19 P.M. two officers were dispatched to E. Hamtramck St. on a report of a domestic dispute. The caller and involved parties had parted and an officer spoke with the victim. During the investigation it was determined that Kateland N. Downer had committed domestic violence. She was placed under arrest, charged with domestic violence, and transported to the Knox County Jail. There is nothing further to report at this time.
  • On this date at 10:23 P.M. an officer was dispatched to a Coshocton Ave. business on a report of a shoplifting suspect in custody. When the officer arrived he made contact with the company’s Loss Prevention Associate who had a male suspect in custody. The suspect had taken two items of merchandise, identified as a pregnancy test and personal lubricant into the restroom and attempted to conceal the items. The suspect said his girlfriend had only given him $5.00 to buy the pregnancy test, which cost $17.99. The suspect indicated the personal lubricant was for Valentine’s Day. The suspect stated it was “stupid” to try what he did and cooperated fully. The suspect was given copies of a no trespass order and was issued a summons for petty theft by the officer. The suspect stated that he understood he was no longer allowed back on company property. At this time the investigation is closed.
  • Campus Security at the Nazarene University reported they stopped a suspicious looking vehicle on campus. After stopping the vehicle, the security person identified the occupants as MVNU students. She stated she smelled an odor coming from inside the vehicle and, after investigating, found drug paraphernalia inside the car. The drug paraphernalia was collected and placed into evidence at the MVPD. A report was filed with no charges.
  • At 12:11 A.M, an officer was dispatched to a Coshocton Ave. business on a report of shoplifting. When the officer arrived he issued a summons to the suspect for theft and one for criminal mischief.

  • Chad Creech, 45, Johnstown Rd. was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.
  • Kateland Downer, 19, E. Hamtramck St. was arrested and charged with domestic violence.
  • Daria O’Brien, 17, Gambier, was cited for changing lanes without safety.
  • Richard Ashcraft, 31, Fredericktown, was arrested for theft.
  • MichaelKupiec, 27, W. Sugar St. was cited for 2 counts of driving under suspension and 1 count for failure to display both license plates.
  • Christopher Belcher, 51, Delano St. was charged with theft and criminal mischief.
  • Raymond Williams, 47, E. Hamtramck St. was arrested and charged with hypodermic needle possession and display.

  • Tylena Lewis, 24, W. Curtis St. was cited for driving under FRA suspension.
  • Kyle Beaver, 25, Hewitt Rd. was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.
