Crash Reports

Feb. 9

  • Steven J. Boucher was traveling eastbound on Coshocton Ave. Logan Cole Starner was attempting to pull out of a private drive and struck Boucher. Starner was cited for failure to yield when entering traffic.

Feb. 10

  • Teresa A. Smith was traveling eastbound on W. Chestnut St. A vehicle owned by Suzanne D. Frusher was parked on W. Chestnut St. and was rear-ended by Smith. Smith was cited for failure to control/weaving.

Feb. 11

  • While facing north and stopped for a stop sign on N. Catherine St. at Coshocton Ave., Gary L. Scott attempted to cross Coshocton Ave. and was struck by Jacob William Frieko who was traveling eastbound on Coshocton Ave.

Incident Reports

Feb. 9

  • At approximately 2:49 P.M. an officer was dispatched to a Florence St. address on reports of drug activity in the basement. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the complainant who stated she believed the homeless people in the basement were cooking meth. She stated she had thrown out the people and their belongings from the basement. Detectives from the KCSO responded to the scene and confirmed there was not a current meth lab in the basement. A report was taken and a witness statement was collected. Several found hypodermic needles were disposed of in the sharps container.
  • A complainant came to the MVPD office to report the theft of a flag. The complainant has messaged the suspect who stated she was going to keep thre flag until she received her property from her ex-boyfriend.
  • At approximately 6:00 P.M. an officer was dispatched to a Belmont St. address in reference to a theft. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the complainant who said a known individual had stolen her pink DS from her residence. No further investigation.
  • At 9:50 P.M. an officer responded to Knox Community Hospital on a report of a disturbance in the emergency room. No other information available.
  • An officer was dispatched at approximately 10:06 P.M. to a South Park St. address in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, he office found the complainant on the floor upstairs complaining of pain from being struck by her husband. He husband had fled the area. The complainant was transported to Knox Community Hospital. Witness statements and photos were taken. The report was sent to the prosecutor for further review.
  • An officer was dispatched to a Braddock St. address on a report of a disturbance. When he arrived on the scene he saw a male juvenile quickly exit through the front door. Behind him was an adult male, later identified as Dennis Caraway. The officer directed the juvenile to remain in the yard and tried speaking to him. Caraway continued to yell and was irate. An adult female and two more juveniles were standing in the front doorway. The juvenile in the yard told the officer he had been grabbed and choked by Caraway when Caraway confronted him moments before the office’s arrival. Caraway, who was intoxicated was unable to calm down and was warned about his conduct. Caraway turned around, placed his hands behind his back and told the officer to arrest him. The officer complied with Caraway’s request. He arrested him, handcuffed him and escorted him to the officer’s cruiser. When the officer resumed his investigation it was discovered that Caraway had confronted the juvenile, who is his step-son, and his own daughter. The confrontation escalated into a physical altercation. Caraway was arrested for domestic violence and two counts of endangering children. He was transported to the Knox County Jail. The officer also made contact by telephone while on the scene with the Assistant City Law Director and with Knox County Children’s Services in reference to possible temporary placement of Caraway’s daughter. A cellphone used by Caraway to record the incident was taken as evidence. A receipt for the cellphone was attached to this report and a copy of the receipt sent to Caraway at the Knox County Jail. At this time the investigation is closed.
  • Units were dispatched to E. Vine St. in reference to a male with no shirt running around and yelling. Multiple 9-1-1 calls were received about the incident. The male was located in the 700 block of Pennsylvania Ave. He was identified as Curtis Wade and was warned to calm down and stop yelling numerous times. When Wade continued his erratic behavior he was arrested, placed in handcuffs and charged with disorderly conduct with persisting and resisting arrest.
  • At approximately 12:07 A.M. an officer responded to a McGibney Dr. address on a report of a suspicious person. When the officer arrived he confronted a male, identified as Nicholas Pigg who was sitting on the front porch of the residence. Pigg indicated that he did not know the people living at the residence and believed he had an active arrest warrant. Adult Probation was contacted and a holder was placed on Pigg. Pigg was then transported to the Knox County Jail.

Feb. 10

  • An officer was dispatched to a W. Gambier St. residence in reference to harassment. The officer made contact with both complainants and the male advised that his son’s mother continues to send text messages to his wife making threats of harm. A witness statement was taken. Thee is no further investigation.

Feb. 11

  • Officers responded to an East Chestnut St. address in reference to domestic violence. Upon arrival, an officer spoke with the complainant who advised Johnathan Llewellyn had smacked her in the face, causing her nose to bleed. Llewellyn also grabbed his girlfriend’s arms and choked her before leaving in their van. Offices made contact with Llewellyn in the area of Columbus Rd. He was arrested and transported to the Knox County Jail. Nothing further to report.

  • Keith Martin, 55, Harcourt Rd. was arrested on an arrest warrant.
  • Gentry Sunkle, 23, Parrott St. was arrested and charged with theft.
  • David Vanderbrake, 29, Fredericktown, was arrested for theft.

Feb. 9

  • Logan Starner, 19, Killbuck, was cited for driving onto a roadway without yielding.
  • Kiknei Rush, 35, homeless, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
  • Brian Gardner, 45, Howard, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
  • Daniel Huffman, 31, Martinsburg Rd. was arrested for disorderly conduct, persisting.
  • Dennis Caraway, 43, Braddock St. was arrested and charged with domestic violence and with endangering children.
  • Curtis Wade, 30, Upper Gilchrist Rd. was arrested for disorderly conduct, persisting and resisting arrest.

Feb. 10

  • Teresa Smith, 56, W. Chestnut St. was cited for failure to control/weaving.
  • Nicole Mitchell, 29, W. Vine St. was arrested on as warrant for probation violation.

Feb. 11

  • Derek Weber, 36, Shalimar Dr. was cited for operation of a motor vehicle in violation of OL restrictions.
  • Johnathan Lewellyn, 19, Cliff St. was arrested for domestic violence and assault.
  • Timothy Sarge, 24, Mount Gilead, was arrested on a warrant for probation violation.
  • Gary Scott, 65, Beech St. was cited for running a stop sign.
