GAMBIER – Based on her results from the Ladies’ last two dual-meet swims, Crile Hart, a Kenyon College freshman, was named Tuesday the CollegeSwimming NCAA Division III National Swimmer of the Week.
Hart became the frontrunner for the award after piling up five event wins across Friday’s home double-dual with Ohio Northern University and Ohio Wesleyan University, as well as Saturday’s dual meet at the University of Cincinnati.
Friday, Hart won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.92 and later swam a leg on Kenyon’s winning 200-yard freestyle relay team that clocked in at 1:38.11.
Saturday, against the NCAA Division I Bearcats, Hart swept the backstroke events. She registered a winning time of 56.20 in the 100 and then turned in a winning time of 2:03.85 in the 200. To top off the week, she claimed the top spot in the 200-yard individual medley by finishing the race in 2:06.38.
Hart’s efforts helped the Ladies to a 2-1 record for the week and final 4-3 dual meet record for the season.
