MOUNT VERNON — Judge John Thatcher found eight people guilty after arraignments and hearings were held at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on Jan. 22, 2018.

Jack Sidwell, 60, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol. The court sentenced him to pay a $700 fine, serve 180 days in jail with 160 days suspended, placed him on three years of community control with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days, and suspended his operator’s license for two years.

Matthew Woody, 27, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Assault. The court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail with credit for time served, and the balance suspended, and placed him on two years of probation.

Nathan Strojek, 22, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Persisting Disorderly Conduct. The court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine, serve 30 days in jail with 30 days suspended, and placed him on one year of probation with the following condition: complete 30 hours of community service.

Michael Rudd, 51, of Howard, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol. The court sentenced him to pay a $700 fine, serve 180 days in jail with 170 days suspended, placed him on three years of community control with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days, and suspended his operator’s license for two years.

Justin Burdge, 44, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Reckless Operation of a vehicle. The court sentenced him to pay a $150 fine.

Frederick Josephson, 21, of Lebanon, was found guilty of Persisting Disorderly Conduct. The court sentenced him to pay a $250 fine.

James Smith, 35, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol. The court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Kevin Alspach, 51, of Howard, was found guilty of Persisting Disorderly Conduct. The court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine, serve 30 days in jail with 30 days suspended, and placed him on one year of probation.

Director of Law Rob Broeren represented the State of Ohio and the City of Mount Vernon in these cases.
