MOUNT VERNON — A 22-year-old Mount Vernon man could face 25 years in prison after being indicted for involuntary manslaughter and three other felonies.

Among the 18 people indicted by the Knox County Grand Jury Monday was Richard Cantu. He is now facing charges of first-degree involuntary manslaughter, second-degree corrupting another with drugs, and two counts of tampering with evidence, both third-degree felonies. The first-degree felony carries a maximum sentence of 11 years in prison if Cantu is found guilty. The second-degree felony comes with a maximum eight-year prison sentence and the third-degree felonies have 36-month maximum penalties.

The indictments are as follows:

  • Richard Cantu — involuntary manslaughter (F1), corrupting another with drugs (F2), two counts of tampering with evidence (F3)
  • David Cross II — theft from a person in a protected class (F5)
  • Jeremy Dinsmore — safecracking (F4), theft (F5)
  • Michael Greywolf — improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle (F4), two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs (F4), aggravated possession of drugs (F5), having weapons while under disability (M3)
  • Tracy Hambleton — aggravated possession of drugs (F5), possession of marijuana (minor misdemeanor)
  • Taylor Kesman — aggravated possession of drug (F5)
  • Jessica Mantel — aggravated possession of drugs (F5)
  • James McClanahan — aggravated possession of drugs (F5), possessing drug abuse instruments (M2)
  • Joseph McGhee — aggravated possession of drugs (F5), possession of marijuana (minor misdemeanor)
  • Ryan Pedro — Failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer (F3)
  • Brenda Rogers — having weapons while under disability (F3)
  • Justin Shaw — two counts of aggravated burglary (F1)
  • Lucas Stagg — complicity in the commission of breaking and entering (F5), complicity in the commission of petty theft (M1)
  • Jarrod Strouse — two counts of burglary (F3), grand theft (F3), carrying concealed weapons (F4), escape (F4), three counts of breaking and entering (F5), four counts of theft (M1)
  • Steven Thompson — complicity in the commission of breaking and entering (F5), complicity in the commission of petty theft (M1)
  • Douglas Whitt — improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle (F4), two counts of operating a vehicle under the influence (M1)
  • Anthony Wicks — possession of marijuana (F5) with a forfeiture specification
  • Richard Wiles III — aggravated possession of drugs (F5), possessing drug abuse instruments (M2)
