MOUNT VERNON — Judge John Thatcher found thirteen guilty after hearings were held at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court on Jan. 8, 2018.

Richard Ashcraft, 31, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Criminal Trespass. The court sentenced him to serve 30 days in jail with 30 days suspended and placed him on two years of probation.

Dawn Stanley, 40, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Menacing. The Probation Department will be doing a pre-sentence investigation prior to her sentencing on Feb. 13, 2018.

Troy Martin, 37, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol and Marijuana. The court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail with 174 days suspended, placed him on two years of probation with the following conditions: attend a 72-hour driver intervention program within seven days, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Jamie Allen, 35, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The court sentenced her to serve 30 days in jail with 30 days suspended and placed her on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days and enroll in a random drug screening program.

Jessica Joslin, 35, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Petty Theft, Theft by Deception, and Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments. The court stayed a 150-day jail sentence until a July review hearing and placed her on two years of probation concurrently for these charges.

Brody Butler, 24, of Danville, was found guilty of Telecommunications Harassment. The court sentenced him to serve 180 days in jail with 180 days suspended and placed him on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days and complete the Court’s Hands Down program.

Dean Barnett, 57, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Petty Theft. The court sentenced him to serve 20 days in jail.

Justin Giesey, 34, of Warsaw, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence. The court sentenced him to pay a $1,000 fine, serve 365 days in jail with 335 days suspended, placed him on five years of community control with the following conditions: begin an IOP within 10 days of release, and suspended his operator’s license for three years.

Scott Glancy, Jr., 23, of Wooster, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence. The court sentenced him to pay a $700 fine, serve 180 days in jail with 160 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following conditions: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days, and suspended his operator’s license for two years.

Bruce Morrison, 46, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence. The court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

John Masters, 36, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence and a Failure to Use Reasonable Control. The court sentenced him to pay a total of $550 in fines, serve 180 days in jail with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following conditions: attend a 72-hour driver intervention program within seven days, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

David Davis, 39, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Disorderly Conduct/Persisting. The court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine, serve 30 days in jail with 30 days suspended and placed him on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete a drug and alcohol assessment within 60 days.

Director of Law Rob Broeren represented the State of Ohio and the City of Mount Vernon in the cases of Ashcraft, Stanley, and Martin.

Assistant Director of Law Brittany Whitney represented the State of Ohio and the City of Mount Vernon in the remaining cases.
