MOUNT VERNON POLICE DEPARTMENT
Incident Report
- Dec. 15 – A vehicle was towed from E. Ohio Ave for code enforcement. It was taken to the Mount Vernon Police Department impound lot at 500 North Elm St.
- Dec. 15 – An officer was dispatched to a Coshocton Ave. business on a report of shoplifting. When the officer arrived at the scene he made contact with the complainant who said he witnessed a female suspect take several items from the store without paying for them. The suspect was stopped by loss prevention employees after she passed the last point of sale. Items taken included candles, chocolate, candle holders, a laser game, T-shirts, framed art, markers, a coloring book, leggings and 2 DVD videos. Charges were filed against the suspect.
- Dec. 15 – An officer was dispatched to a Coshocton Ave. business on a report of shoplifting. When the officer spoke to the complainant he advised that after reviewing financial records he determined that a fraudulent return was made on Dec. 11, 2017. The suspect made a fraudulent return of 2 DVD videos. The officer was able to identify the suspect and charges were filed.
- Dec. 16 – An officer was dispatched to E. Gambier St. in reference to found property. The complainant stated he had come out of his residence earlier and found a black bag in his front yard behind the bushes near his fence line. The complainant did not touch the bag and immediately called police. The property was collected and items inside were checked. One item was a medication bottle with a name on it. Dispatch contacted Knox Community Hospital Emergency Room staff and found the person had been admitted earlier by police. The medication was placed in the MVPD evidence room.
- Dec. 16 – Units were dispatched to an Oak St. residence on a report of a disturbance. Dispatch advised a patient had punched and bitten their caretaker. The complainant showed officers the bite marks and punch injuries. The suspect was taken into custody and charged with assault.
- Dec. 16 – The complainant reported his vehicle was stolen while he was at a Coshocton Ave. business. He said the vehicle was parked on the east side of the business when it was taken. The investigation continues and there are no suspect at this time.
- Dec. 17 – At approximately 1:55 A.M. units responded to a W. Ohio Ave. business concerning a large fight in the rear parking lot. No other information is available.
- Dec. 17 – At approximately 2:55 A.M. units responded to a fight in the area of a parking lot on W. Vine St. Robert Williams was located at N. Main and Sugar streets. He was charged with domestic violence, 2 counts of assault, aggravated menacing, criminal damage and a probation violation.
- Dec. 17 – An officer responded to a Coshocton Ave. business in reference to a shoplifting complaint. When the officer spoke to the complainant he told the officer a female suspect was stopped for using fake Kroger Plus cards in the U-WScan checkout line. The complainant also said the suspect admitted to stealing an RC car worth $14.99 from Kroger on Dec. 14, 2017. The suspect was issued a summons for petty theft and advised of her court date.
- Dec. 17 – An officer responded to a S. Gay St. address in reference to a disturbance. When the officer arrived he made contact with the male complainant. He told the officer he was over at his ex-girlfriend’s house when they started fighting and not getting along. The male said he felt threatened and called 9-1-1. The male was arrested for violation of a protection order. The male was transported to Knox Community Hospital and will be transported to the Knox County Jail when he is released from the hospital.

- Dec. 14 – Samantha Cunningham,25, Harcourt Rd. was arrested for driving under an FRA suspension.
- Dec. 15– Lucas Stagg, 35, E, Ohio Ave, was arrested on an active warrant.
- Dec. 15 – Holly Strunk, 21, Centerburg, was charged with one count of theft.
- Dec. 15 – Teresa Marks, 53, Blackjack Rd. was arrested for possession of drugs.
- Dec. 15 – Luke Wilson, 26, N. Sandusky St. was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
- Dec. 15 – Timothy Roberts, 32, E. High St. was arrested and charged with drug abuse.
- Dec. 15 – Christian Wiles, 18, Fredericktown,was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.
- Dec. 16 – Ian Lashley, 21, Danville,was cited for assured clear distanced ahead.
- Dec. 16 – Christopher McLernon, 19, W. High St. was cited for expired or unlawful plates.
- Dec. 16 – Edward Horn, 59, E. High St. was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.
- Dec. 16 – Nicole Bright, 21, Marengo, was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.
- Dec. 17 – Luke Wilson,26, N. Sandusky St. was arrested for disorderly conduct with persisting.
- Dec. 17 – Lee Cisler, 33, Fairgrounds Rd. was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.
- Dec. 17 – Robert Williams, 41, Old Mansfield Rd. was arrested and charged with 2 counts of assault, domestic violence, Criminal damaging or endangerment and aggravated menacing.
- Dec. 17 – Justyn Harris, 29, Wooster Rd. was arrested on an arrest warrant.
Crash Report
- Dec. 15Â – Both vehicles were traveling southbound on S. Mulberry St. when Jared Lane Harding stopped for a traffic control device. Luke Wilson who was following Harding failed to stop, striking the rear of Harding’s vehicle. Wilson was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
